Goodfellas Pizza & Wings will open a third location this spring next to Hooters downtown. Taking what had been a McDonald's until a few months ago, the restaurant is scheduled to open by April. With their current midtown eatery at Spring and North Ave near the Varsity as well as their location on Moreland Avenue, I'd hope this new location will get the support of area hotels and business people. To the left of their space is a successful Hooters restaurant but to its right is "The Pig Sty", a long since abandoned concept. While signage went up over two years ago, no work has been done in well over 18 months, so hopefully Goodfellas opening will spur interest in the area. Across the street in the former Macy's building, Meehan's Public House will be opening in the coming weeks adding more variety to the downtown dining scene. ToNeTo Atlanta
