GEOX Runs out of Breath at Perimeter Mall

GEOX, the shoe that breathes, closed its lone Atlanta retail store at Perimeter Mall earlier this evening. Located on the first level of the Nordstrom wing, the store opened in May, 2008 and was one of a number of new stores the Italian footwear company opened. Another store opened at SouthPark Mall in Charlotte, but that store closed last year. While the shoes are carried in numerous department stores nationwide, the company's southern retail outlets will now be exclusively in Florida: Lincoln Road in Miami, Aventura Mall in Aventura and Mall at Millenia in Orlando.

The wing still has Betsey Johnson and Stuart Weitzman boutiques, but was once expected to include Kate Spade, Juicy Couture and Tiffany & Company. Elsewhere in the mall, Michael Kors and True Religion have opened boutiques, but no other designer labels are said to be in the works at this time.
