Perimeter Patrons to Pay Less

Perimeter Mall will soon be home to Payless ShoeSource and Aeropostale. Aeropostale started as a Macy's house brand and Payless was at one time part of May Department Stores Company. Both stores will open on the main level of the mall with both said to be on track for "spring openings." Both stores are believed to be in the Dillard's wing of the mall but I was not able to get customer service to confirm this.

Perimeter has added a number of retailers in recent weeks. Disney's Imagination Park, a new concept store from Walt Disney will open in the coming months. Additionally, Love Culture, a female oriented store similar to Forever 21, and Madewell, a women's only sister concept from J. Crew will both open at Perimeter Mall in the coming months. Z Gallerie, a store that had closed its Perimeter Mall store in 2009, is now reopening in the Nordstrom wing.

At one point the mall was said to be in talks with luxury retailers like Tiffany & Co. , Juicy Couture and Kate Spade to open boutiques around Bloomingdales and Nordstrom but none have materialized. The mall is home to a Coach store and did add Stuart Weitzman, Betsey Johnson and GEOX stores but the GEOX store has already closed.

The mall's current direction seems to be female and family focused and hopefully all the new additions to the mall improve foot traffic and perhaps finally get the shuttered Hudson Grill leased again.

What's up with the crappy electronic sign for Perimeter? Circa 1989? I think replacing that with an up to date LED model would look SO much better.

I can vouch that Aeropostale will be on the lower level in the Dillard's wing. I was at Perimeter yesterday and saw the "construction billboard" for it.

As nice as Perimeter is, I'm surprised that it lacks some stores. Aeropostale is just now coming on board; I would've thought that a Hollister would open up where Love Culture is ultimately going; The old Mayor's space would make a good Pottery Barn (Is Z Gallerie taking up that whole strip of stores, though?); I would suggest Williams-Sonoma, but with Sur La Table already present, it may be redundant.

@ Tres,

I too was at the mall earlier today. Both Aeropostale and Payless will be in the Dillard's wing. Payless adjacent to Dillard's itself, and Aeropostale, down from it towards the food court.

As for Perimeter, I too am surprised by its lineup ( and outdated signage as mentioned in the comment above) It's unclear just how much space Z Gallerie will be taking as their coming soon signage only covers a small portion of that side of the hall, clearly not all that they will occupy. Here's to hoping something more meaningful takes the former PH8 space as well as the former Falcons 365 store on the second level.

Thanks as always for your contributions and for reading the site!

I actually don't mind that big marquee that Perimeter has on Ashford-Dunwoody. I mean, I agree that it could be updated with an LED screen, but just don't dispose of it completely. To me, that sign is a classic part of the mall. Just my opinion.

As a former member of the now defunct merchant's association board of directors at the mall, I recall them saying that they never wanted to update the sign due to the cost involved. This was the same reasoning given for not putting a more appropriate and well placed mall elevator in the mall.

And who knows if they could get a new sign past the City of Dunwoody folks. The new sign ordinance is not as business friendly as it should be.

Payless Shoe Source--that's just great. Maybe they can get a Burlington Coat Factory in there as well. Just a whole makeover for that mall, building on Payless's orange-brown-yellow theme that was so au courant in 1978.
