Claudio Furgiuele, owner of Reuben's Deli on Broad Street in downtown Atlanta, is taking his grub on the road! A favorite of mine from my time at Georgia State, Reuben's features New York style deli sandwiches, piled high with Boar's Head and Thumann's meats, at college-student-friendly prices. Claudio has partnered with local entrepreneur Mikey Moran and others to make his eats available to a broader audience via a mobile food truck dubbed "Rolling Reuben's."
Last year I reported that Claudio was looking to expand via franchising but it appears the food truck will be his next immediate expansion of the brand. A far more economical means of expansion, food trucks have grown mightily in popularity in the metro area. This week the Atlanta City Council also approved new regulations that will allow dozens of new vending trucks to operate on private property in commercial areas throughout Atlanta.
Moran tells me the truck itself was purchased a few weeks ago and is currently getting "totally tricked out." The plan is to have the truck operational by the end of the month and "all over Atlanta" and available for catering as well. A Facebook page and Twitter are both up and running and will provide updates about location of the truck.

Great - Looking forward to Reuben's fresh take on sandwiches hitting the streets of Hotlanta. Good bread with good quality meats are what makes Reubens special.
