Farm Burger Goes North to Asheville

Farm Burger will open its fourth location early next year in Asheville, North Carolina.

Atlanta-based Farm Burger just opened their third Atlanta area location  in Dunwoody and also recently inked a deal to bring their concept to Asheville, North Carolina.  The Asheville restaurant will be located in the heart of downtown Asheville in the historic Leader Building.  The Leader building was most recently home to a retail concept, so it will take some time to transform it into Farm Burger.

George Frangos, founder of Farm Burger, has been scouting other southern cities for his planned expansion outside of Atlanta and sees Asheville as a good secondary market considering its similarities to Decatur, home of the original Farm Burger.

I  spoke with Frangos at Farm Burger Dunwoody shortly after opening, when he told me he expects to be open in Asheville by next March.  Earlier this summer, I made a trip to Asheville, my first, and am excited to see one my favorite Atlanta eateries brought to such a charming town.

What other southern city needs a taste of Farm Burger?  What are your thoughts on the new Farm Burger / Morelli's in Dunwoody?  Have you tried the new-ish lamb burger?  Please weigh in below and share your thoughts.

Asheville is an awesome place. Such a great vibe there.

I know many of the Asheville "locals" raise an eye when "outsiders" come into the Downtown and open up .. but Farm Burger should be fine. They almost had riots there when Urban Outfitters went in. They detest chains.
