Athleta, the yoga wear retailer from Gap Inc., is no longer planning to open at the Shops Around Lenox.
I announced earlier this month that Athleta was in talks to open at the Shops Around Lenox in Buckhead, and that a building permit had already been filed with the city of Atlanta. In my post I explained how unfair it would be to existing tenant lululemon athletica and how odd it would be for two fierce competitors to be a stone's throw from each other. It's unclear what, if any, role my examination of the situation played in the outcome, but a well placed source says the deal is definitely dead.

If the plan had gone through, Athleta would have occupied a portion of what is currently an oversized Roche Bobois furniture store.
If imitation yoga gear is what you want, look no further than imitation lifestyle center, Atlantic Station in midtown, home to Atlanta's one and only Athleta.

And be sure to say hi to Caleb when you're at that Athleta. ;)
"Imitation yoga gear,"? What does that mean??? Are we snobbish about "yoga gear" now?
Good move and if you had anything to do with it even better. What was the SAL LL thinking? Maybe he wasn't
To follow up on the previous comment re: yoga gear, I have to agree with him. If this is "imitation yoga gear", isn't EVERYTHING imitation except for the original inventor. Is every grocery store an imitation of King Kullen? Is every department store an imitation of the first department store? Is every shirt an imitation of the first shirt? etc... Odd that you have such a dislike of a clothing store (one that, mind you, I have never been to once)
There are several centers where Lululemon and Athleta coexist I.e University Village Seattle. Don't flatter yourself hotshot.
I cannot believe the SAL LL is letting Bohjanic put this awful looking 70's wood trellis patio up. It completely ruins the entire center and blocks the eatery.
Athleta come to TB. I live in Brookhaven and I don't want to drive anywhere near Lenox and I have plenty of yoga
friends and we all shop
