World Peace Cafe Surrenders to The Loving Hut

World Peace Cafe has closed in Sandy Springs.

World Peace Cafe, located on Hammond Drive just off Roswell Road, closed this past Sunday, August 25th. The restaurant had been open six years and apparently did not close for lack of business, and even hints both a cookbook and "intown" location coming soon.

World Peace Cafe was operated by volunteers and owned by the Kadampa Meditation Center Georgia.  The restaurant's profits supported "meditation classes and special events designed to help others find peace of mind."

The restaurant will reopen September 7th as the Loving Hut.  Loving Hut is an international healthy restaurant, similar to World Peace Cafe, with an existing location in Norcross and one "temporarily closed" in Kennesaw.  Loving Hut reportedly has over 200 locations across the globe, and claims to be the largest "international chain of vegan restaurants."

Loving Hut's branding message invites patrons to "Be Vegan, Make Peace!"

Will you miss World Peace Cafe?  Have you been to one of Loving Hut's other locations in Kennesaw or Norcross?  If so, what were your thoughts?

The Loving Hut in Kennesaw is closed, according to the folks who work at the Norcross location.

I've always liked the idea of WPC better than the actual restaurant. The menu is pretty devoid of vegetables and heavy on wheat. It was great having it as a breakfast place, but then they stopped doing that during the week. Mostly, I never understood why they opened it there and always wished they'd kept their space in Kirkwood and opened there instead. I like LH OK, but it's decidedly vegan (WPC is veg), and there's a reason it feels like a cult. At least they have some vegetables to go with the processed soy and wheat products.

Loving Hutt is a great restaurant which we frequent.

Their monthly all-you-can-eat buffett on the 3rd Saturday each monthly is amazing.

Their desserts such as Chocolate Raspberry cake, cheesecake or the Choc. Eclaire Cake are delicious.

Give a try and enjoy !!! Very tasty and happens to be healthy too.

I really enjoyed WPC and I hope their new location will be easy for me to get to. I have been to LH in Norcross, and in Falls Church, VA. I love that it is all vegan, and each one offers variations in the menu so I look forward to checking on the one in Sandy Springs.

Anyone wanting to open a vegan or veg restaurant on the east side of Gwinnett (Snellville, Grayson, Lawrenceville) would make very good business. There is nothing out here that I've found yet. I drive a long way for a vegan-friendly restaurant.

I always wanted to try World Peace Cafe, but never made it there. It may not help that Cafe Sunflower was so close by, and a decided favorite. Loving Hut, on the other hand, is not. They use frozen vegetables and too many prepared and processed foods. When I eat at a restaurant I want and expect FRESH food, foods that I might not prepare at home. The quality is just not there at all. A big disappointment actually, and I have tried the Norcross and the Kennesaw locations. I'm not surprised the Kennesaw location closed.
