7 For All Mankind Taking Small Step, Reopening in Lenox Square

Designer denim company returning to Lenox Square.

7 For All Mankind, a division of Greensboro, North Carolina-based VF Corporation, is finally making good on its word to reopen in Lenox Square, the same mall it exited in 2012.  7 For All Mankind closed its boutique in Lenox Square in April of 2012 after opening in the popular Buckhead mall in late 2008.

A permit was filed with the city of Atlanta back in June, but did not specify a suite number, only that it would be within the mall.  As I reported in December, the belief was that this second iteration of 7 in Lenox would be smaller and that it would be located near Urban Outfitters.  This information has proved largely accurate as the new 7 will be located in the (tiny) former Lacoste space near Bloomingdale's.

Last year I was told by a 7 rep that the store would open October 4th: that clearly did not happen.  Now a source within 7 says that the store will open "in February."

Personally this opening seems rather foolish considering how widely available 7's merchandise has become, in addition to the fact that their new space is incredibly small. Oh yeah, and they already tried the mall once, and failed.

This seems more appropriate for an upscale shopping center that isn't located close to not just one, but two malls, that have several stores carrying their merchandise.

only 7 store i've ever seen consistently busy is the one near Union Square in SF - probably because any decent retailer will be busy in that area. the old store in Lenox certainly never was. why shop there when you can hit up Nordtsrom's and get a better deal on regular and clearance merchandise?
