New restaurant to replace SeaBass Kitchen
SeaBass Kitchen on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs closed Sunday night after operating since early January of last year. (SeaBass opened in place of Rumi's Kitchen, which relocated to a larger space nearby.) A new restaurant called Maya Steaks & Seafood is replacing Seabass. Maya is being opened by Mimmo Alboumeh, owner of Red Pepper Taqueria (Briarcliff and Buckhead), and Coldbrew's (Roswell.)
The restaurant gets its name from Alboumeh's youngest daughter, Maya.
As the name suggests, Maya Steaks & Seafood will specialize in steaks and seafood and will hope to garner some of the business of the nearby and recently closed Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. According to Alboumeh, the restaurant will be "creative American with a Spanish flare."
Alboumeh will source his meats from "Meats by Linz," a popular Chicago-area meat purveyor.
Though not finalized, early intel suggests Maya will be open for dinner only. Plans call for remodeling of the 1800 square foot space to begin this week, and for Maya to open in mid-to- late December.

Its a loser location with no parking. Odds are it doesn't stay open longer than Sea Bass?
Agree with Anon. That spot has a dozen parking spots, tops, and that is not gonna work with sit-down dining. That whole corner needs to be blown up and redone.
The restaurant will have a valet with access to nearby parking.
Disappointing news. Bring back Sea Bass Kitchen.
