Novo Cucina to open this week in Dunwoody
Riccardo Ullio quietly soft-opened his latest restaurant, Novo Cucina, last week. Open for lunch this past Thursday through Sunday, Novo is closed today and tomorrow and will reopen Wednesday, with more menu items, for lunch and dinner.
As I was first to report last year, the casual Italian eatery opened in place of what was once a Pizza Hut in Dunwoody Village. The roughly 2,500 square foot restaurant is located in Dunwoody Hall shopping center on Chamblee Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody Village. When I reported on Novo's opening last January, Ullio told me he hoped to be open by April (2014), but apparently he sustained a number of construction / renovation related setbacks.
Novo's menu draws on Ullio's Italian roots, featuring assorted pizza, pasta, risotto and salads in addition to a wide range of wines. There are over twenty different pizzas offered ranging from eight to thirteen dollars. Novo will also have a an Enomatic wine serving system. An Enomatic system is capable of preserving wine for up to 4 weeks, extending the freshness of wines by the glass for restaurateurs and consumers alike.
Novo marks Ullio's first OTP foray for his U Restaurants which include popular Inman Park restaurants Sotto Sotto and Fritti as well as midtown's Escorpion.
Have you been to Novo? If so, what were your thoughts? Are you excited about the opening?
