Fred DeLuca, co-founder of Subway, died Monday night at age 67. DeLuca, who in 1965 at age 17 borrowed $1,000 to open a sandwich shop in Bridgeport, Connecticut to help pay for college, parlayed that experience into building Subway. With an estimated $18 billion in revenue in 2012 (a Forbes estimate as the company is privately held) and over 44,000 locations worldwide, Subway is the world’s largest chain of fast-food franchises.

Not sure why Chik is doing that promo -- that store is gonna print money from the minute it opens. Guess it is up to the franchisee. Now Lassiter HS will have its "own" Chik -- right next to a Target. $$$
That promo is run at every CFA opening. The zip code limitation is new though as the same groupies were traveling around to all the openings.
And of course they are going to print money - that is what restaurants with excellent food, good value and excellent service do. They will also support the community, local schools and events.
My experience as a casual customer of CFA is a slight decline in service over the last couple of years. Although still much better compared to other fast food operations.
Interesting - as I have seen the opposite. Same courteous service at the register, but now they attend to the dining room more and come up and offer to refill your beverage for you.
Can you imagine that happening at McDonald's?!?
Heard just the other day from another Longhorn employee that the LoHo being rebuilt in Toco Hills will be a prototype, 2 story location.
CFA is so overrated.
Funny you should say that. It amazes me how many restaurants with mediocre food there are, in Atlanta, that actually have people waiting in line to dine. I've lived in many cities, small and large, and I've never seen anything like it.
The key to success for every mediocre restaurant is to serve alcohol.Atlantian's love their alcohol, and places to consume it.
Wait, what? Some people actually consider Rooms to Go high end? HaHaHa..
@Eli, have you heard any like what Pistol said above about the burnt down Longhorn?
@All RE: Longhorn Toco Hills,
I reached out to my contact at LongHorn corporate in Orlando who indicated that the new Toco Hills location will sport the chain's current look and layout. She was unaware of any plans for a second level. She also indicated that the permitting process is progressing and they plan to be reopened by next summer.
Thanks for the readership and comments.
