Chastain Tavern, which opened in late 2014 on Wieuca Road in place of a shuttered Twisted Taco, is being offered for sale. The listing by The Shumacher Group lists the restaurant for $150,000.
The listing indicates that nearly $1,000,000 was spent to open the doors. "Owners gutted space
and added brand new renovation that included all brand new furniture,
fixture, equipment, rustic wood interiors and 12 draft beer system."
The nearly 4,800 square foot, two level restaurant has its own dedicated parking and seats 150 inside and 100 outside, with an additional 20 seats at the bar.
The restaurant is listed as "keep or convert," meaning a potential buyer could keep the business as Chastain Tavern or convert it to something else.
Are you a fan of Chastain Tavern? If the restaurant did change, what kind of restaurant would you like to see open in its place? What is your favorite Chastain Park area restaurant?

Hope someone makes a go of the Tavern, which has been an asset to the neighborhood. These guys tried everything they could - super friendly staff, good cooking, specials, promotions. But that location, next to the always-busy La Fonda and Fellini's, just seems cursed. (BTW, this is indeed North Buckhead. The Sandy Springs line is a little north, at Taxco.)
You have your bearing wrong - it's in the city limits of Atlanta.
All,
You are both right, I was thinking of W. Wieuca which in fact the boundary.
Thanks for your readership and catch, I appreciate them both.
Hate this, I live in walking distance, but not surprised. The lack of parking seems to doom anything that moves in and the shopping center won't share their lot! Best option might just be to bulldoze the building and let Fellinis and La Fonda use it for overflow parking.
Hate when good people make a go of it and do not succeed. Everyone would be doing it if it were easy, I suppose. Choosing the right location is so important.
Sounds like a perfect place for the Brickery to relocate to...
Parking is critical to most businesses. I'm surprised at how many businesses open with very little parking. It is sad if the owners put so much into it. I drive by there everyday and it's obvious parking is a problem.
Ooooh @unknown suggesting the Brickery could move there...like that idea. Don't know much about the parking situation, but I know they would need a ton of it.
Lack of parking is a big part of the issue... Not nearly enough to support a busy restaurant.
The City of Atlanta limits end just north of Wieuca. Meadowbrook Drive is the line, just behind the Walgreens.
