Bits & Bites [Atlanta Commercial Real Estate News]

The existing Chick-fil-A restaurant on Roswell Road in East Cobb known as the East Lake location, closed July 15 for a full remodel.  According to the restaurant's Facebook page, a reopening is expected "within two weeks," with an exact date expected to be revealed this week.

Sherman Oaks, California-based Barry's Bootcamp has started the build-out of their upcoming location at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, their first location in Atlanta.  The fitness facility will open at 303 E. Paces Ferry Road, near the corner of N. Fulton Drive and E. Paces Ferry Road, a few doors down from Georgetown Cupcake.  The space will be about 5,700 square feet and is expected to open in October/November.

A new Jim 'N Nick's BBQ Restaurant is planned for Pooler Parkway near the relatively new Tanger Outlets in Savannah.  The roughly 6,600 square foot restaurant will open alongside LongHorn Steakhouse, FATZ and Cook Out. As ToNeTo Atlanta reported last month, Roark Capital Group purchased Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q.  The purchase of the 37 unit BBQ chain gives the Atlanta-based, private equity group its 20th restaurant brand.   Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hollister will soon begin renovations of their existing store at Town Center at Cobb in Kennesaw.  The renovations are expected to replicate the work done to update the brand's second level store at Lenox Square in Buckhead.

Santa Lucia Brazilian Restaurant plans to open soon in the former Atlanta Bread Co. space in Mall of Georgia Crossing in Buford.  The new, approximately 4,300 square foot Brazilian restaurant applied for a liquor license from Gwinnett county last month.

Communion Cantina on Church Street in Decatur has closed. The outdoor gathering spot just opened this past May for Cinco de Mayo in the backyard of chef Kevin Gillespie’s Decatur restaurant Revival. Communion Cantina served beer and cocktails as well as a small menu of Mexican food truck snacks. The restaurant confirmed the closure yesterday via its Facebook page saying that it is now a special event venue only. "An increased demand for private parties coupled with unpredictable weather frequently caused us to be closed to the public this summer, unfortunately. By transitioning to private events, we can maximize use of the space and alleviate disappointing our guests who could not depend on a set schedule. Don't worry, we still plan on hosting Terminus City BBQ pop-ups here! Church Street.. closed The space will remain for private events, and occasional Terminus City BBQ pop-ups."

The Local Pizzaiolo has pushed its planned openings on the Westside and Toco Hill.  Whereas the Westside location was previously expected to open in July and the Toco Hill location in August,  both are now reportedly on track to open in October.  The company's Sandy Springs location, planned for the new Modera Sandy Springs apartment complex, is expected to open "early 2018," followed by the restaurant at the new Madison Yards project on Memorial Drive... later.

Auntie Anne's Perfect Pretzel, part of Atlanta based FOCUS Brands, will be opening a new location at the Georgia Tech Student Center on Ferst Drive.  The pretzel shop will occupy an existing 321 square foot space.

Burger 21 plans to reopen their Snellville location on Scenic Highway on August 14.  The restaurant closed this past summer after about 90 days in business.  The new Burger 21 will sport the brand's new look and logo, and is now owned by the same franchise group as the Burger 21 restaurants in Kennesaw and Buford.

Holler & Dash, the trendy, upscale breakfast and lunch biscuit house from the owners of Cracker Barrel, will celebrate the opening of their first Atlanta area location on Tuesday August 29th.  The restaurant, located at 1085 Howell Mill Road, replaces Tom + Chee, a grilled cheese franchise that closed this past January.

Regions is permanently closing their Alpharetta branch at 5570 Windward Parkway Friday October 27th at 2PM. Existing bank customers were recently informed of the bank's plans, but no explanation for the closure was given.  The bank occupies an outparcel of The Plaza at Windward shopping center.   Customers were directed to an existing Regions branch about four miles away, at 5352 McGinnis Ferry Road. ToNeTo Atlanta reported last month that Regions intends to build a new branch in East Cobb about four miles from an existing branch in nearby Sandy Springs.

That Regions bank planned for East Cobb still burns me up! Damn you Kroger for not replacing the once Shell gas station with your own. Bad produce on you!

You said Holler & Dash is opening up on the 29th but that's a Tuesday, not a Sunday. Did you mean the 27th?

@ 12:34 Gas stations are not "replaceable". We should be trying to rid our precious Earth of toxins that pollute her. Do you hate the planet more than you hate Kroger?
