[EXCLUSIVE] Sarah Donuts Destined for Decatur in 2018

Sarah Donuts will open their first ever ITP location early next year at North Decatur Plaza.  The donut shop will open in place of Little Caesars Pizza, which closed earlier this year in the center.  The space is 1,500 square feet and is situated between Finders Keepers consignment boutique and BullGogi, a Korean and poke eatery.
Sarah Donuts currently has shops in Duluth, Norcross, Cumming and two in Suwanee.  The original location, on Medlock Bridge Road in Duluth, still carries the "Sara Donuts" moniker while subsequent locations are "Sarah Donuts."

Korean natives Sara Park and husband Jong Park were involved in their family's doughnut shop business in Texas for more than 20 years, opening their first Atlanta-area shop—called Sara Donuts—in 2004 in Duluth.

What makes Sarah Donuts unique is that they are largely made by hand, fresh in each location.  The resulting product is slightly crisp outside and extra-fluffy inside.

Sarah Donuts, while unknown to some ITP residents, have been a favorite of foodies and those OTP for many years.  Sarah Donuts was named "Best of Atlanta 2016 - Doughnuts" by Atlanta Magazine while Thrillist named them "The Best Damn Donuts in Atlanta" in 2016.

Sarah Donuts joins BullGogi, Saigon Cafe and SunO Dessert as Asian-owned businesses in the center.

Nearby, Dunkin' Donuts opened earlier this year on the Scott Boulevard side of Fuqua Development's Decatur Crossing shopping center.  Over at Toco Hills Promenade, local franchisee Andre Walters plans to open his second Atlanta area Duck Donuts location next year.  His first opened in Buckhead earlier this year.

Sources say that Sarah Donuts plans to be open in its new location by late spring 2018.

Have you been to Sarah Donuts?  Where do you think the best doughnuts in Atlanta are?  Where would you like to see Sarah Donuts open next?

The location on Medlock Bridge Road hasn't been Duluth for 10 years. It is Johns Creek.

Why is it necessary to call out the Asian owned businesses? Chocolate is Caucasian owned business in the same plaza? Mediterranean Grill is owned by Mediterraneans?

So good. I live ITP but make sure to stop by whenever I'm in the area (usually the Suwanee store). So so good. If only they were opening in Sandy Springs (Prado, Gateway, etc.)
