Eat Fit Go, which just last fall entered the Atlanta market with three locations, has closed two, and is in the process of closing the third. The Nebraska-based concept, which sold the Atlanta market to franchise partner "EAT FIT GO GEORGIA KITCHEN, LLC," ran the Kennesaw area commissary that supplied the Atlanta locations and was intended to eventually supply as many as thirteen locations around Atlanta.
The Sandy Springs location posted a message on its front door late Sunday stating:
"On 8/1/18, Eat Fit Go Corporate filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and closed our Atlanta kitchen. Without food to provide our customers, Eat Fit Go Georgia must cease operations effective 8/5/18. We want thank everyone who has supported us over the past year and we wish the best to all of our loyal customer base.*This in no way effects other businesses within the shopping center."
On July 31, Eat Fit Go Healthy Foods - Omaha, LLC, the concept's parent organization, filed for Chapter 11 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Nebraska (Omaha Office). The filing follows a string of other Eat Fit Go closures earlier this year and comes a little over a year after similar concept My Fit Foods shut down entirely. Based in Austin, Texas, My Fit Foods closed all of its then 50 locations last February.
Last December, Austin-based Snap Kitchen exited the Chicago market but continues to operate in other markets.
Locally, Chef Christophe Le Metayer opened a total of four locations of "Christophe's to Go" (Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Johns Creek and Dunwoody) in 2012 through 2014, but had closed all of the shops by late 2015. Like Eat Fit Go, Christophe's offered assorted healthy prepared meals at a similar price.
In Atlanta, Eat Fit Go locations closed Sunday on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs and on Cobb Parkway across from Akers Mill Square. The last remaining location, located on Windward Parkway in Alpharetta, is currently offering 50% off all in-store meals ahead of their imminent closure.
Given that all locations were supplied by the offsite commissary, none have functioning kitchens or grease-traps, but at around 1,600 or so square feet apiece, their closure provides a great opportunity for another concept in the "gently used" second generation spaces.
Were you a patron of Eat Fit Go? Do you think concepts like Eat Fit Go are bound to fail given the ease of meal delivery kits and upgraded "grab and go" grocery offerings? What would you like to see open in the former Atlanta area Eat Fit Go locations?

These meals were expensive but quite delicious. Guess overhead was too high.
i'm surprised they lasted this long! i was so happy a concept like this was coming to atlanta, but was unhappily surprised when i actually tried their products...they were barely edible! healthy food shouldn't be disgusting. i hope this concept comes back in the form of another store but with much better tasting options.
The meals were OK. The issue was the lack of communications between the kitchen and stores which resulted in meals being prepared that were not what the stores had ordered. Also, the store personnel was never properly screened which resulted in average hires.
