[UPDATE] Gwinnett Medical Clinic Checking In to Former Peachtree Corners Ippolito's

Gwinnett Medical plans to open a new clinic in the former Ippolito's Neighborhood Italian restaurant at 5277 Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree Corners.  The popular neighborhood restaurant closed as of Sunday March 16 after twelve years in business.  The restaurant was located in a roughly 5,400 square foot freestanding building just south of The Forum and the new Peachtree Corners Town Center.
Strangely, a banner on the building indicates "Restaurant Coming Soon," even though the interior has been stripped of basically all restaurant fixtures and infrastructure.  Local sources indicate that the restaurant was unable to come to terms on a new lease and that the medical facility was willing to pay a higher lease rate.

Following the Peachtree Corners closure, Ippolito's remains in operation in four other Atlanta area communities including Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw, Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell, and Town Center Avenue in Suwanee.

A message posted to the restaurant's front door indicates that the Peachtree Corners restaurant is reopening in a familiar location.  A new Ippolito's is expected to debut soon in Alpharetta's Windward Commons where it will open in place of Ipp's Pastaria & Bar, a sibling concept that closed in the center last year.  Sources indicate that the new Ippolito's is slated to open in May.

Separately, a previously announced Ipp's planned for 980 Canton Street in downtown Roswell is reportedly on track to open in July.

Are you sad to no longer have an Ippolito's in Peachtree Corners?  Do you plan to visit the new Ippolito's in Alpharetta?  What is your favorite Atlanta area Italian restaurant?

Must not have been quite so "popular" in the neighborhood if it's closed up shop

We will greatly miss Ippolito's and the wonderful family that owned it. They and their children were active in our community and it is sad to see them have to leave. I am not sure of where you received your "local sources" of information on the terms of their closing, but your information is not quite factual. I wish them well in their new location and hope that one day they will return back to our area. We will definitely visit them in Alpharetta when they open.

It was a popular place and one that I took family to every time they came to visit. Our family will miss having this gem in our neighborhood.

Once they removed Gnocchi from the menu I knew it was coming to an end. Great another doc in the box is EXACTLY what we need! Might as well let Fuquia fill it with a fake boutique business like Commercial Center oh I forgot they're calling it Town Center not commercial center; my bad...

Why? There is a medical complex down the road. They are already building a clinic right beside the Black Walnut...which is a strange place for a clinic. Let's keep the medical businesses in a medical park area.

So very glad we could have YET ANOTHER medical clinic in the area (since the new one across the street, the one a half mile down, and the one a mile north were clearly insufficient.

I hate ippolitos. if this clinic provides access to people who need it at hours others aren't open, great. who is complaining about more options in healthcare?

stumblebee, sounds like a personal problem you need to address privately.

I'm confused about the Alpharetta Ippolito's. It was an Ippolito's for many years then an Ipp's for a shorter time, and now it'll be Ippolito's again? Is it owned by the same family, because it just sounds so odd to me to go back and forth and close down and then reopen. I read very poor reviews when it was Ipp's, so doubt we'd bother to go back when it's open again even though it's down the street.

It didn't make sense when they changed it from Ippolito's to Ipps in Alpharetta. Was told that the younger generation took over and said they needed to rebrand and be hip and new. They then had a fire in the kitchen and closed instead of rebuilding but now they are back and going to re-open as Ippolito's again. Really odd and seems like whoever is running the company now is clueless.
