The owners of Emory Point's BoruBoru Sushi Burrito + Bowl plan to open a new location in Sandy Springs. The new outpost, to be located between Kidental and Sprint in the Whole Foods Market/Marshalls anchored center, will be 1,841 square feet, a hair smaller than their original which opened in 2016. The new BoruBoru will open where for several years there was to be a new Sublime Doughnuts that never materialized.
BoruBoru features a menu focused on poke bowls and sushi burritos, but also offers rice and salad bowls as well as drinks like Boba Tea and Blue Donkey iced coffee, among other things.
The new Sandy Springs location is actually the third overall for the growing mini chain. A location opened this past April in Tallahassee, Florida.
Atlanta-based real estate and private equity firm Jamestown purchased both Hammond Exchange (then called The Exchange at Hammond) and the adjacent Parkside Shops and this past fall from Mimms Enterprises.
Similar to plans previously discussed for Parkside Shops, Jamestown plans to invest in updates and upgrades to the center.
Planned updates include the façade, monument signs, landscaping, "consumer insights platform," electric car charging stations, on-site management, enhanced tenant signage and music.
BoruBoru could open later this fall.
Are you excited for the addition of BoruBoru to Sandy Springs? Have you ever had a sushi burrito? What is your favorite sushi spot in Sandy Springs?
