[UPDATE] Iron Age to Bring Korean Barbecue to "Famous" Space in Toco Hills

Korean barbecue restaurant Iron Age Steak House plans to open its fourth Atlanta area location in Toco Hills.  The new restaurant would open in place of what was most recently Famous Pub, where Hudson Grille was to open but later abandoned their plans.  The 4,900 square foot space is adjacent to the alleyway that separates Toco Hills shopping center from Toco Hills Promenade.

Like other Korean BBQ eateries, Iron Age is a DIY, AYCE restaurant.  For those unfamiliar with the acronyms, most Korean BBQ restaurants provide grills at each seating area for customers to cook their own food (DIY) in an all you can eat (AYCE) format.  Korean BBQ eateries are growing in popularity in that they offer "experiential" dining, something that traditional restaurants cannot.

Iron Age opened their original Atlanta area location on Pleasant Hill Road at Mall Corners shopping center in Duluth in late 2009, and added a second location off Ernest Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw in summer 2017.  This past summer, Iron Age opened its third Atlanta area location at the Prado on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.  The 8,100 square foot restaurant opened in place of the longtime area restaurant Kobe Steaks.  A fourth location we reported was coming soon last year to Cumming did not open as an Iron Age, but did eventually open as Q Korean Steakhouse, a similar but unaffiliated concept.

Iron Age also has locations in Centreville, Virginia and Rockville and Baltimore, Maryland.   The existing Iron Age restaurants in Georgia are open late seven nights a week, with Duluth open until 2 AM Monday through Saturday and Kennesaw open until 2 AM Friday and Saturday.  The three restaurants are open until midnight all other nights.

At Toco Hills, Iron Age joins a growing roster of new restaurants that now includes Kale Me Crazy, Spiller Park Coffee, Chopt, The Local Pizzaiolo and Pao Pao Ramen and Rolled Ice Cream, among others.  As ToNeTo Atlanta previously reported, Flying Biscuit Cafe is expected to open at Toco Hills in the coming weeks, while Yumbii and Burgerim expected to open in a few months.

Iron Age at Toco Hills is slated to open by summer 2020.

Are you excited for the opening of Iron Age at Toco Hills?  Have you ever been to a Korean BBQ restaurant?  Where should Iron Age open next?

This is the best news ever. When will they open? Please tell me they'll open later this year.

I dined at the original Atlanta restaurant in Duluth and had steak, chicken, and shrimp. I liked the steak the least, as it was very stringy and fatty. It supposedly was Angus beef, but in my opinion the worst cut of it. I'd give it a second try, but maybe not get steak.
