[EXCLUSIVE] Apple Targeting September 2020 Opening for Flagship at Lenox Square

Apple plans to open their new, more than 21,000 square foot store at the front of Lenox Square in September 2020, this according to recently updated mall lease documents reviewed by ToNeTo Atlanta.  The huge two level store is currently under construction, and while no signage indicates that Apple is the "exciting flagship store" opening soon, multiple sources and planning documents confirm the retailer's plans.
ToNeTo Atlanta was first to report on the planned store last September, and we have consistently provided updates on project.

Apple already has a store in the mall, but will relocate to the new store once it opens.  The current store is about 8,200 square feet and generates about $50 million in revenue, according to industry estimates.  The popular retailer has made similar moves previously when it relocated to a larger space in Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, and when it relocated from North Point Mall to a large store at Avalon in Alpharetta.

Nike, for its part, recently filed permits to renovate its two level store at Lenox Square.  The renovations, which are expected to include "refinished flooring, lighting and signage upgrades; new millwork cabinetry, updated stairway treads and handrails, new area rugs and revised merchandise layout," will cost some $2.6 million, according to permits filed with the City of Atlanta.

Zara is currently in the process of expanding its store at Lenox Square, which when completed will span approximately 30,000 square feet and include clothing and accessories for men, women and children as well as the company's housewares collection.

Are you excited for the giant new Apple store coming to Lenox Square?  What would you like to see open in place of the current Apple store at Lenox Square once the new Apple store opens?
