[EXCLUSIVE] Harley-Davidson Runs Out of Gas at The Battery Atlanta, Closing Soon

Tomahawk Harley-Davidson plans to shutter its store at The Battery Atlanta at SunTrust Park later this month.  The store, located in suite 854, between boutiques Sugarboo & Co. and  DressUp, in the mixed-use development adjacent to SunTrust Park, opened in 2017. The store is reportedly not closing due to low sales, but instead due to an unspecified matter within the family of the franchise owner.

The Battery Atlanta management supplied ToNeTo Atlanta the following statement regarding the impending closure:

"Throughout their time at The Battery Atlanta, Tomahawk Harley-Davidson has been a great partner with the development, and we plan to continue our relationship through on-site events. The Battery Atlanta looks forward to announcing plans for the space soon with an exciting concept to complement the district’s boutique shopping, chef-driven restaurants and hospitality elements."

The Harley store, despite what some may assume, did not actually sell Harleys, but instead sold a variety of official Harley-Davidson merchandise and apparel.  All in-stock merchandise is currently being liquidated with savings of as much as 75 percent off select merchandise.

The store could close as soon as this week, or as late as August 22, depending on sales of on-hand merchandise, among other factors.  Tomahawk Harley-Davidson will be the first permanent retailer to close in the mixed-use project.  Restaurants Todd English Tavern, Achie's, First & Third Hot Dog and Sausage Shack and FEED Fried Chicken + Such all closed at The Battery in 2018.

Sources close to the project indicate that Battery management is finalizing a lease with a replacement tenant and that an official announcement is imminent.

I know we joke about Trader Joe's on here a lot, including me, but I actually think a Trader Joe's might work in the Battery.
