[COMING SOON] Two California Franchises Finds Homes at 1010 Midtown

An Atlanta franchise of California's Silverlake Ramen plans to open soon at 1010 Midtown in Midtown.  The new ramen and noodle eatery will open in a roughly 2,000 square foot space previously home Piola and Ribalta, both pizza restaurants.  Ribalta closed in the space last December after opening in mid-2014, a short time after Piola closed.  The space is physically located on 11th Street, but carries the 1080 street address.

Started in the Los Angeles area community of Silver Lake in 2012, the company started franchising in 2017.  Today there are six locations in California and six more coming soon.  In addition to Atlanta, the chain plans to enter the Charlotte area with a franchise near Concord Mills, an outlet center owned by Simon Property Group.

The new Silverlake Ramen is situated adjacent to the recently opened Sugar Factory.  The street level retail of the luxury condo building also includes Chipotle Mexican Grill, Panera, The Federal, RA Sushi and Ri Ra Irish Pub, among other tenants.

Silverlake Ramen joins a growing number of local and national ramen eateries in metro Atlanta.

JINYA Ramen Bar, also based in southern California, has a pair of locations open in Buckhead and Sandy Springs with four more coming soon to Alpharetta, Athens, Buford and Poncey-Highland.

Elsewhere, Chef Guy Wong operates his popular Ton Ton at Ponce City Market, Takashi Otsuka operates Wagaya restaurants in Home Park and in Emory Village and Brush Sushi Izakaya's Jason Liang opened Momonoki at Modera Midtown.  All three of these restaurants and other independent and chain shops around metro Atlanta offer their own version of the popular Japanese noodle dish.

Additionally, one of four planned Atlanta area locations of  Los Angeles based HotBox Sauna Studio will take the last remaining space at the front of the project along Peachtree Street. The studio will open in a roughly 2,000 square foot space between Sugar Factory and Better Homes and Gardens' Midtown real estate office.  Atlanta-based Legacy Franchise Partners, already the largest franchisee globally of Orangetheory Fitness and franchisee of Dogtopia, a boarding and dog daycare franchise, has plans to expand the HoxBox concept significantly.

In addition to the Midtown studio, slated to open in early December, other Atlanta area outposts are coming soon to Vinings Jubilee in late October/early November, Sandy Springs at Square One apartments (Roswell Road & Hammond Drive) in late November and Buckhead, at the new Modera Buckhead apartments (Peachtree & Pharr Roads) in mid December.

Have you ever been to Silverlake Ramen?  What is currently your go to place for ramen in metro Atlanta?  Are you excited to try HotBox Sauna Studio?

Interesting. Remember when those spaces were supposed to be big "mag mile" retailers? Yeah right. Also I've noticed that Sugar Factory has already been swamped by an urban clientele. Google ratings are reflecting a less than stellar first couple of months.
