[EXCLUSIVE] Taichi Bubble Tea to Enter Atlanta Market in 2020

A new restaurant called Taichi Bubble Tea plans to open early next year at the corner of North Druid Hills and Briarcliff Roads in Brighten Park shopping center.  The new eatery, which serves bubble tea along with ramen, poke, sushi, sushi burritos and other Asian fare, is opening in the 2,800 square foot space previously home to Mexican restaurant El Torero which closed over two years ago after being in business for "more than 25 years."

A local franchise group is behind the Atlanta Taichi location.  The original Taichi opened in October 2015 in Rochester, New York.  Several additional locations later opened elsewhere in Rochester as well as in Buffalo, New York.  A separate franchisee opened a pair of locations in Chattanooga with another two locations also planned for Chicago and another open in Mt Pleasant, Michigan.

The Atlanta franchise, Taichi Tea GA, Inc., reportedly has plans for additional locations in metro Atlanta.

Taichi at Brighten Park joins a growing list of eateries in the Emory area offering similar food and drinks.

Boruboru, which offers sushi, poke, sushi burritos and bubble tea opened in late 2016 at Emory Point, while Pao Pao Ramen and Rolled Ice Cream opened earlier this March at Toco Hills shopping center.

Work on Taichi has yet to begin, but sources close to the project indicate that plans call for it to open late in the first quarter of 2020.

Are you excited for the addition of Taichi to Brighten Park?  Have you been to one of the other Taichi locations?  Who do you think makes the best ramen or bubble tea in metro Atlanta?

Asian mashup... and about a minute behind every trend. They should just save themselves the trouble and just remain unopened.
