[EXCLUSIVE] DEFY "Jumps" Into Georgia with Trampoline Park in Tucker

DEFY Extreme Air Sports, a new to market activity center, will make its Georgia debut later this year in Tucker, according to updated marketed materials for Northlake Village shopping center.  DEFY Tucker, located at 3200 Northlake Parkway, will open in place of the shuttered Sports Authority that once anchored the center behind Northlake Mall.  The approximately 42,500 square foot space was  previously planned to become an outpost of Aspire Fitness. Financial issues and an eventual bankruptcy filing prevented the fitness facility from ever opening.
As described on its website:

"DEFY is an attitude and a rallying cry promoting individualism and freedom from the norm. It’s a collection of extreme air sport parks across America that are rewriting the rules of sport — giving our communities a place where they’re free to express and push themselves.

Society has tons of expectations and rules, but DEFY gives everyone a safe place to defy those constraints. We’re for fiercely independent, fearless individuals who pass on organized sports in favor of nonconforming ones that challenge them in non-traditional ways."

Most DEFY locations feature a variety of activities ranging from ninja obstacle course,  extreme dodgeball and trapeze to foam pits, warped wall and battle beams, among other things.  Trampolines are a central part of DEFY and other businesses like it.

Based in Provo, Utah, DEFY is a franchise business similar to several other concepts such as Altitude Trampoline Park, Urban Air Adventure Park Sky Zone and Adventure Air Sports, among others.  Altitude, based in Southlake, Texas, currently has one metro Atlanta location in the works at Parkaire Landing in East Cobb.  Fellow Texas based operator Urban Air, based in Dallas, has metro locations open in Snellville, McDonough, Newnan and another coming to Macon.  Based in Los Angeles, Sky Zone is the the most dominant player in the market currently with franchises in Roswell, Suwanee, Kennesaw, Macon, McDonough, Newnan, and Columbus.   Adventure Air, a southern based concept, current has just one location in metro Atlanta at Town Center Plaza in Kennesaw.

At Northlake Village shopping center, DEFY joins popular locally owned Bambinelli's Italian Restaurant and a Post Office as tenants in the center. This is expected to soon complete its long awaited renovation.

Are you excited for the planned opening of DEFY in Tucker?  Do you have a favorite trampoline park in metro Atlanta?  Where else would you like to see DEFY open in metro Atlanta?

It isn't my first choice but occupancy is better than what we have now

Not "Tucker"....yet anyway. This sits across the street from Northlake Mall, which was recently annexed INTO the City of Tucker. The new city has yet to anoint it's addition by placing City of Tucker signs anywhere in the Northlake Business District, something that can only be a result from Northlake-Tucker CID insisting that it not place them there.

Thought Emory would be locating in the mall. Appears there are plans to redo the mall. Would be interesting to have the park across from the changed mall.
