[EAT!] Order Takeout or Delivery on Tuesday to Support the Restaurant Industry

COVID-19 poses a significant threat to the future of restaurants, an industry that employs more than 15 million Americans.  In metro Atlanta and across the country, friends, family, co-workers, chefs, servers and countless others now find themselves in incredibly challenging positions.  Many are suddenly out of work while others, still employed, saw their hours, tips and pay drastically cut.

A coalition of restaurants, including Atlanta's Marlow's Tavern partnered to create the Great American Takeout.

On Tuesday March 24, they’re asking everyone in America to show their support for the restaurant industry and its incredible employees by joining #TheGreatAmericanTakeout and eating at least one delivery or takeout meal. An evolving list of local restaurants offering both delivery & takeout options (many now including beer & wine) can be found here

“This is no longer about the survival of individual restaurants,” stated Russ Bendel, CEO of The Habit Burger Grill, a member of the coalition. “It’s about the future of our industry. And time has run out. Together, we must act to support each other and our communities in unprecedented ways.”

To get others engaged and garner more attention to the cause, please share your meal on social media, tagged with #TheGreatAmericanTakeout.

The Great American Takeout is only the beginning. Keep supporting our nation’s restaurants by ordering takeout or delivery as often as you can.
