[CLOSURE ALERT] Levi's Apparently Not A Good "Fit" in Alpharetta, Store Shuttered After Three Years

Levi's has closed at Avalon in Alpharetta.
The store opened in April 2017 as part of the mixed-use development's second phase.  Levi's was located adjacent to the Apple store, which likely made it an expensive space.  Sources close to the development tell ToNeTo Atlanta that the store's closure was previously planned and had nothing to due with the recent COVID-19 pandemic.  Despite this, the store is still listed on both the Levi's website (as temporarily closed) and on the Avalon website.

Local sources tell ToNeTo Atlanta that the Levi's store had been closed temporarily, like basically all other non-essential retailers as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but that as of Wednesday, signage and merchandise had been removed from the store.

The Avalon outpost was the company's only full-line, full-price location in Georgia.  There are, however, four Levi's Outlets still open in Georgia, including those at Sugarloaf Mills in Duluth, The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta in Woodstock, North Georgia Premium Outlets in Dawsonville, and  Tanger Outlets in Locust Grove.  The four outlets, like so many other retailers in Georgia, remain temporarily closed due to COVID-19.

San Francisco-based Levi Strauss & Co. was first established in 1853 and has been both privately and publicly held at various times over its 166 year history.  The company re-entered the public market last March under ticker LEVI on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Given that the store's closure was planned, a source with knowledge of the leasing efforts at the project tells ToNeTo Atlanta that a "fun" replacement tenant is already in the works.

Are you surprised that Levi's closed at Avalon?  What retailer would you most like to see open at Avalon in the future?  What retailer are you most looking forward to patronizing [in person] once it is safe to do so?

Please share your thoughts below.

Levi’s should start selling there merchandise in places like Target and Walmart as brand to woo shoppers who don’t want to pay high prices for jeans and shorts, plus Old Navy should also start selling them to make a comeback in general, because honestly a clothing brand store is starting to become a thing of the past thanks to the decline of malls and Covid 19 also is making a huge affect on it as well. 🤔
