California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) has closed its location in East Cobb in Marietta. The restaurant, located at the corner of Johnson Ferry and Roswell Roads in Pine Straw Place, opened with the center in 2007, and permanently closed as of yesterday, June 30, according to an email sent to customers. The 4,200 square foot pizzeria was the only full-service restaurant in the center anchored by Trader Joe's and CVS, but also home to Willy's Mexicana Grill and New Balance, among other tenants.
In an email to customers titled "Thank you, Pine Straw," the company thanked their customers for their patronage over the years and invited them to visit other area locations in Dunwoody and Alpharetta.
CPK is the latest restaurant chain to have seemingly taken advantage of the current COVID-19 pandemic to pare down its stores and shutter under-performing restaurants. ToNeTo Atlanta previously reported that Darden closed its Buckhead outpost of Season's 52, Uncle Julio's closed their Buckhead and Sandy Springs locations, Romano's Macaroni Grill closed their Alpharetta and West Cobb restaurants, and Ted's Montana Grill closed their Cumberland and Decatur restaurants. ToNeTo Atlanta was first to report on June 6 that Zinburger also closed nearly all of their east coast locations.
Following the closure in East Cobb, the California-based pizza chain will operate five restaurants in metro Atlanta: Lenox Square in Buckhead, near Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, near North Point Mall in Alpharetta, at Atlantic Station in Atlanta, and at The Forum on Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree Corners.

Not surprised. Prices kept going up and there are better options.
CPK is disgusting. I don't know how it stayed open this long.
