[EGGSTRA EGGSTRA!] Another Broken Egg Pulls Out of Peachtree Battle

Another Broken Egg Café at Peachtree Battle shopping center in Buckhead has closed.  The restaurant reportedly closed abruptly in recent days leaving only a few signs thanking "our loyal guests."  The popular breakfast and lunch eatery opened at Peachtree Battle in 2011, and was the Destin-based chain's first location in Georgia.  The closure is believed to have coincided with the completion of the restaurant's initial ten year lease.

By all accounts, the restaurant had remained a popular destination for those in the Buckhead community, so its closure came as a bit of a shock to those who discovered it this week.  The restaurant, owned by a franchisee, could reopen elsewhere in the area.  The 3,998 square foot space is not yet being marketed for lease on the property's website, which could indicate that the IT guy took a day off, or, more likely, that the landlord, Branch Properties, already has another tenant lined up.

Another Broken Egg Café currently has nearly 80 locations open, with many more in the works.  Under the leadership of President & CEO Paul Macaluso (formerly President & CEO of Krystal, and before that, President of McAlister’s Deli), Another Broken Egg Café has accelerated its franchise program with several multi-unit franchise agreements signed in 2021.  The brand will likely eclipse 100 total units by the first half of 2022.

Following the closure of the Peachtree Battle location, five Another Broken Egg Café restaurants remain open in metro Atlanta including those in Alpharetta, Dunwoody, Johns Creek, Roswell and Vinings.

Publix-anchored Peachtree Battle shopping center will by late October welcome a new Cava restaurant to the high visibility space currently occupied by Zoës Kitchen.

What would you like to see open in place of Another Broken Egg Cafe in Buckhead?  What is your favorite breakfast spot in Buckhead?  Are you more looking forward to the opening of Cava, or disappointed by the imminent closure of Zoës Kitchen?

Surprising. This place was absolutely packed on the weekends. People waiting to get a table were standing off the curb into the parking lot, even before the pandemic. They had to cone off extra space in the middle of the driveway for people to stand and wait. I guess the landlord priced them out. Too bad.
