After hearing rumblings of it earlier this year, we are pleased to be able to confirm now that Chick-fil-A has secured space for its first Brookhaven location. The new Chick-fil-A will open in place of the longtime Hudson Grille along Peachtree Road at Brookhaven Station. Chick-fil-A will reportedly renovate the roughly 8,100 square foot space to suit their needs and due to both its location and limitations of the City of Brookhaven, it will not have a drive-thru. Instead, the focus of the restaurant will be on dine-in, delivery, catering and takeout orders.
Recently released data indicates that average unit volumes for traditional freestanding Chick-fil-A restaurants reached a record $8.1 million per store in 2021, an increase of 14.7 percent over 2020.
The new Chick-fil-A in Brookhaven will likely be similar to the planned Chick-fil-A on Ponce de Leon near Ponce City Market. ToNeTo Atlanta reported in March that popular wing joint Dugan's plans to "move" to Northlake, at which point its current Ponce de Leon restaurant will be rebuilt as a Chick-Fil-A catering, takeout and delivery oriented location without a drive-thru.
The site of the upcoming Chick-fil-A in Brookhaven was for many years home to the once popular Jocks & Jills sports bar, after which it became Hudson Grill in 2007, but closed in early 2020. For a very brief time, between late 2020 and early 2021, the space was occupied by Atlanta Bar & Grille which billed itself as "your neighborhood country club x sports bar." The business closed under mysterious circumstances.
Representatives from Hendon Properties, an Atlanta-based developer which acquired Brookhaven Station in early 2021, declined to comment on the status of the space, which according to the property website, is not leased. Jerry Goebeler, current owner/operator of the Chick-fil-A on Roswell Road in Chastain Park, will also operate the upcoming Brookhaven Station location, according to sources familiar with the company's plans. Our multiple attempts to reach Goebeler, a Brookhaven area resident, were unsuccessful.
In Brookhaven Station, Chick-fil-A joins eateries Mellow Mushroom and Wingstop as well an upcoming location of Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q. Ray Jr's Rapz wraps & smoothie bar, which opened in the center in early 2021, closed a few months later and its 1,400 square foot space remains available.
Are you more excited for the opening of Chick-fil-A or Fox Bros. in Brookhaven? What is your favorite chicken chain? Do you miss Jocks & Jills?

I don't understand. So you won't be able to go there and eat? You can only get pick up? But not through a drive thru. If that's the case then, no, I am not excited about it.
Where will the proposed Fox Bros now go?
I'm not sure how I feel about a no drive-thru Chick-fil-A in a shopping center that has too little parking. I would be more excited about a drive-thru only Chick-fil-A in that location. Definitely not sure how both a Chick-fil-A and Fox Bros will impact the parking situation there. I loved Jocks & Jill's. That corner has been underutilized since Jocks and Jill's left. Chick-fil-A typically makes good decisions so hopefully it will work
I don't eat Chick-fil-A but glad there is no drive thru as no one wants the queue extending into Peachtree
Who could have predicted that the Rapz place would close so soon? People think they can just throw up any ill planned concept and voila, money on trees. At least it didn't feature hookah.
That side street is going to be a mess!
I nominate whoever represented the property and sold CFA and Brookhaven on this plan for Salesperson Of The Year!!
Are they working on the CFA that is supposed to go in at Cheshire Bridge and Sheridan? I haven’t driven by that site since Cheshire Bridge being cut in half makes that road no longer useful to me.
That intersection at Peachtree/Dresden/Brookhaven Drive where the Chick-Fil-A is to be located is already a cluster
A drive through Chick- Fil-A would have been a traffic disaster but the number of vehicles coming through for Chick-Fil-A pickups or short stay dining at that location and then feeding into either Peachtree Road southbound or the feeder exit from the parking lot to Brookhaven Drive will not work either
Chick Fil-A is good but not at that location - since the property has been vacant for so long guess the Brookhaven City Council decided to just wave it through despite the obvious traffic problems that will result
What part of "focus on dine in" did you not understand?
@Anon 8:32pm:
The part where the rest of the sentence you printed reads "........delivery, catering and takeout orders."
"the focus of the restaurant will be on dine-in, delivery, catering and takeout orders." But even with that, unless they add a very large parking lot, traffic will be a mess.
When I heard Fox Brothers was going there I immediately thought "parking is awful in that center already. It is going to be a disaster." Now throw in CFA. Oh boy.
Wow no drive through at CFA, what in the world....
Let's start a list of things missing from CFA:
One size cup of coffee
No decaf coffee
One size of milkshake
No slaw
No carrots and raisin salad
No chicken salad sandwich.
But this fall August 22- October 31, 2022) we can all enjoy:
Grilled deluxe with cilantro lime sauce
Autumn spice milk shake
Brookhaven has a no drive through ordinance. Otherwise, we would have had a chick-fila years ago. Also explains why we have limited food options..
Brookhaven leadership is awful
Another traffic nightmare for an already overdeveloped shopping center.
There are drive thru at McDonald’s and Burger King in brookhaven
HelpðŸ˜
The large parking lot behind the current buildings is currently fenced-off for use of construction equipment and parking. I guess it will become part the parkingarea
What a disaster this will make traffic for that little area. It is already impossible to find a parking spot just to go to the UPS store. Also, until CFA brings back the original chicken salad sandwich and the cole slaw they are a no go for me.
