[ALERT] Henri's to "Rise" in Brookhaven This Fall

Henri’s Bakery & Deli Friday announced that it plans to open its fifth location, this time in Alpharetta Brookhaven. The new location will be at the corner of Johnson Ferry and Ashford Dunwoody Roads, where it will replace Corner Pizza, which closed this past December after 14 years in business.  The building, located at 2163 Johnson Ferry Road, was before Corner Pizza a Domino's Pizza franchise.  Henri's plans to open later this fall, according to a Facebook post it made announcing the new location.

While perhaps most well known for their "famous" shortbread cookies and other baked goods, Henri's also features more than a dozen sandwiches and assorted salads, in addition to classic and custom cakes.

Henri’s Bakery was established in 1929 by Henri Fiscus who came to the United States in 1921 after World War I, working in restaurants in New York and Rhode Island before arriving in Atlanta as the opening pastry chef of the Biltmore Hotel. Six years later, he purchased a French bakery in Midtown that would become the original Henri’s Bakery & CafĂ©. Henri passed away in 1974, one day shy of his 80th birthday.

Henri’s great-grandson, Anthony DiNardo, purchased Henri’s Bakery, then with locations in Buckhead and Sandy Springs, from other family members in 2016. The following year, Henri’s moved its Buckhead cafe from its then home in a freestanding building at the corner of Cains Hill Place and Irby Avenue to nearby Andrews Square (56 East Andrews Drive).  Later that year, it opened a third store just off Marietta Boulevard in Atlanta’s Upper Westside. The 5,000 square foot kitchen and retail space also serves as a commissary for the company’s other locations. In October 2020, a fourth Henri's location opened in the Marietta Square Market in Marietta.

In a Facebook teaser leading up to the official location reveal, where fans were asked to guess where the new location would be, the majority of comments were for the Alpharetta area which could be an indication of where Henri's may look to open next.

Are you excited for the opening of Henri's in Brookhaven?  What is your favorite bakery in Atlanta?  Where would you like to see Henri's open next?
