A new steakhouse is coming to Buckhead. Justin Lim, the owner of Okiboru Ramen and Tsukemen, has now leased a second space at the Ardmore condos (2277 Peachtree Road), not far from Peachtree Battle, for his new restaurant. The new restaurant, described in a listing announcing the lease execution by broker Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group, as an "upscale Korean infused A5 Waygu steakhouse," will open in place of Restaurant Eugene which closed in 2019 after 15 years in business.
The new restaurant, which will reportedly include "some twists never before seen in Atlanta," will be about 3,200 square feet, plus an outdoor patio, compared to the roughly 1,70 square foot space that Okiboru will occupy.
In addition to Okiboru and his upcoming steakhouse, Lim started in late 2020 a hot chicken concept - Scoville Hot Chicken - a chain he has since expanded via franchising to include six locations in metro Atlanta (with four more coming soon) and a single unit that recently opened in New York City. The new steakhouse is at least the fifth eatery planned in the area, each slated to backfill a former restaurant.
Another Broken Egg Cafe (ABEC), which last year closed its restaurant in Peachtree Battle shopping center will later this year reopen in the former Imperial Fez restaurant at 2285 Peachtree Road. For its part, Imperial Fez relocated to the Berkeley Lake community of Gwinnett county in 2020. The former ABEC space in Peachtree Battle is expected to reopen later this year as Roshambo, a new all-day diner from Unsukay Restaurants, the group behind Muss & Turner's and Local Three, among others.
Also, across the street from Okiboru and the new steakhouse, Original ChopShop, a new healthy fast casual eatery from Arizona is expected to make its Atlanta debut when they open in a former Panera at Peachtree Square (2274 Peachtree Road.)
Are you excited for the addition of a new dining option in the area? What is currently your favorite intown steakhouse? What upcoming Atlanta area restaurant are you most excited about?
