Delbar, a popular Middle Eastern restaurant that debuted in Inman Park in 2020, has secured space for a new outpost in Alpharetta. The new freestanding location at 4120 Old Milton Parkway has been several other eateries over the years including Pisces Seafood, Urban Spice, and Traditions, among others. According to a newly updated post from Irving Jacobson of The Shumacher Group who handled the transaction, Delbar owner Fares Kargar didn't lease, but purchased the 6,800 square foot building which sits on 1.7 acres.
"Translating to “heart, captured” in Farsi, Delbar is a love letter to the influential dishes that shaped Fares Kargar’s youth and the women in his life who instilled his deep appreciation for Middle Eastern cooking."
In addition to the Alpharetta Delbar, another Delbar is slated to open at The Gentry, a multifamily high-rise in Buckhead Village, but more than a year after its announcement, a recent peek into the space's windows suggests it's far from opening. The Delbar team is also expected to open a more casual, quick-serve concept, Bibi, in Ponce City Market's Central Food Hall. Bibi, which promises to offer a similar aesthetic to Delbar but in a fast casual environment, will feature Persian fare including "flavor-filled" rice bowls with kabobs, salads, dips, fresh pastries and sandwiches.

I grew up in that area and have seen at least half a dozen restaurants come and go from that space ever since it was first constructed. The building is a nice one, I truly don’t know why that location is so cursed. All I can say is good luck… hopefully Delbar makes enough of an impression to stick around at that spot. It’s a really decent piece of real estate that has languished too long.
Delbar is good. But not as good as Nur, on Buford Hwy. The only advantage they have over Nur is that they have a full bar and some yummy cocktails!
When I ate at Delbar a couple of months ago, we inquired about the Buckhead location. The staff said it’s an entire build out and most likely won’t open until the fall.
