With two Atlanta area Whataburger restaurants slated to open this year and another half dozen confirmed for 2023, ToNeTo Atlanta has now confirmed two more outposts planned for Georgia. While an intown Whataburger is still a hope for many, the two additional locations are planned for OTP and way OTP.
In Snellville, Whataburger will open as part of a nearly nine acre development known as "Scenic Pointe." Snellville officials approved the annexation of 8.93 acres of land on Scenic Highway at North Road in November. The property, which will also include a pocket park with gateway signage for the city, is also to include new locations of City Barbecue and Miller’s Ale House, the fourth and fifth locations for each chain in metro Atlanta, respectively.
In Winder, Whataburger will open as part of a four acre project at the corner of Carl Bethlehem Road and Loganville Highway. In addition to Whataburger, new locations of Chicken Salad Chick, Five Guys, and Tropical Smoothie Cafe are also slated to open in the new project.
Whataburger locations along Chastain Road in Kennesaw and along Highway 92 in Woodstock are slated to open later this fall, while six other locations are planned to open next year. The planned 2023 openings include: 503 Lakeland Plaza in Cumming, Buford Drive and Exchange Drive (at The Exchange at Gwinnett) in Buford, 3321 Lexington Road in Athens, 3201 Atlanta Hwy in Athens, 100 Pottery Road in Commerce, and 15 Wallace Boulevard in Dawsonville.
Real estate sources tell ToNeTo Atlanta that Texas-based Whataburger continues to scout the greater metro Atlanta area for additional locations.
Which upcoming Whataburger location are you most excited about? Where would you most like to see Whataburger open? What is currently your favorite fast food burger joint?

DeleteBoggles my mind the excitement over a fast food burger joint. Do any of you actually cook your own meals?
ReplyDeletewow, is this really worth 62 comments? i read through them all, y’all are like sheep!
ReplyDeleteThat said, I am fixated on finding the most perfect burger(s) plural, understanding there are different types and preparation methods, I aim to keep several different “best of” joints in my rotation. I do anticipate Whataburger except that there will be none itp? only far far away in the burbs.

ReplyDeleteNothing special. It’s a 24 hour McDonalds. Guess that makes it a better option
ReplyDeleteWow, this is just like McDonald’s, but by another name? Is there nothing special that’s unique about whataburger? **There must be a reason why Bobby Hill, Hank and Peggy hill’s son is obsessed with Whataburger.** Check out King Of The Hill if you are not familiar with the reference. I wonder what is the root cause of that obsession? There are 24 hour McDonald’s all over the ATL area, just some of them close at 3 AM to 5 AM to keep on top of operations, which is reasonable.
ReplyDeleteBuford ga yes
ReplyDeleteMost excited about the Snellville location. Would love to see one in Lilburn!!! The abandoned Bojangles on Hwy. 29 would be a good location.
ReplyDeleteCome to the southside of Atlanta, College Park, East Point, Jonesboro, Stockbridge, Fayetteville, Morrow, Riverdale, Union City. Pick a place we will come.
ReplyDeletemake sure you bring some Texas employees to show them how to cook, the one in Alabama is not like the Texas ones. I was so disappointed.
ReplyDeleteRome GA can pull from 5 different Georgia county's and 2 Alabama county's.
ReplyDeleteWe need one to come to Grovetown! We are the fastest growing community in GA, you can’t go wrong with this location!😋
ReplyDeleteCovington awaits you with open arms(and mouths!) anywhere along Salem Road or Brown Bridge Road would be great. Rt. 278 as a second choice. Come on up!
ReplyDeleteDouglasville, Hiram, and Carrollton
