A new location of used media retailer 2nd & Charles is coming to Roswell. The new store, which will anchor Brannon Square on Alpharetta Highway, takes over the 28,500 square foot space left vacant last September following the closure of a Salvation Army thrift store. 2nd & Charles specializes in selling used media ranging from CDs and DVDs to video games, books and related collectibles.
The company was launched in late 2010 by owner Books-A-Million, Inc., also known as BAM! The first 2nd & Charles store opened in Hoover, a suburb of Birmingham, where BAM! is headquartered.
2nd & Charles has existing Georgia locations in Kennesaw, Augusta and Columbus. A Buford location near the Mall of Georgia closed in 2021 and reopened this past January as a new Aldi grocery store. There was talk ahead of the Buford closure that they would reopen nearby but those plans have yet to materialize.
A ToNeTo Atlanta reader in Roswell who first alerted us to the development indicated that there has been zero visible work in the space following the thrift store's closure. According to a 2nd & Charles representative, there is no firm word on when the new store will open, only that it will likely be in 2023.

WOW ... Most new vehicles don't have CD players and you can stream movies/shows on line. How can they make money? Hopefully they will sell cassettes and 8-track tapes. Idk. Another drive by store for me. Good luck!!
I wonder if they will buy my several hundred SVHS and VHS tapes, as well as my 12” Laserdiscs. I also have about 80 HDVD movies to sell.
It's FAR more than CDs and movies. Books, games and lots more. The one in Kennesaw is always jammed.
Check out the Kennesaw store. It's pretty packed during peak times. Half the store is used books which is what mainly browse when I'm there, though that section is getting smaller and smaller. Apparently there's a cult demand for older game consoles, games, and video game related collectible. They do sell some vinyl, but not a lo though.
don’t forget, many people actually read books on their tablets and other devices.
