The owner of a Sandy Springs hookah bar has closed on the purchase of an existing building where he plans to open a new "upscale cigar bar." Valid Khamisi, owner of Moustache Hoookah Bar (7855 Roswell Road), purchased the freestanding building at 8549 Roswell Road where The Rusty Nail operated for more than four decades before its closure this past August. (The Buford Highway location remains open.)
As we noted in our August coverage, before The Rusty Nail, the freestanding roughly 1,900 square foot building was a KFC.
The new cigar bar will be at least the third such establishment on or off of Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, joining Havana Cigar Lounge (6010 Sandy Springs Circle) and Cigar City Club (5006 Roswell Road).
#ICYMI In other neighborhood news, Mrs. Winner's has closed permanently with its building being marketed for lease, Arby's will soon close with a new Chipotle expected to replace it, and Ippolito's is not reopening and is instead to reopen as a new ramen restaurant.
Are you pleased to see another upscale cigar lounge open in Sandy Springs? What type of businesses do you think are lacking in the area? What 2023 restaurant are you most looking forward to?

Restaurants like the Brickery was.
It's a Hookah/Cigar lounge renaissance going on throughout metro Atlanta. I can't think of a downside to this.
Wonderful. Another much-needed lounge where someone will get shot over a cigar lighter.
I've past that building thousands of times since the 1990's. I never realized it was originally a KFC!
