[OPENING ALERT] "The Last True Chicken Sandwich" Coming to Dunwoody

SUPER CHIX, which this past March opened their first Georgia restaurant at The Avenue Peachtree City in Peachtree City, will later this month enter the metro with an outpost at Perimeter Marketplace in Dunwoody.  The upstart chain, which calls themselves the "the anti-chainy chain," will occupy a 2,800 square foot space in the new Publix-anchored center.  ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported on the planned opening this past May.

The new Dunwoody restaurant will open on Saturday February 25 at 11 am and will provide free chicken sandwiches and fries to the first 100 guests with the chance to win "Free Super Chix for one year."

Super Chix, which started in Dallas in 2014 and was until 2015 a concept in KFC-owner Yum! Brands' portfolio, has since grown to twenty-one locations with at least four more, including the Dunwoody unit, coming soon, and dozens more planned.

Super Chix bills itself as a "premium fast-casual dining experience."   Some have likened Super Chix to Culver's and Freddy's in that like their burger brethren, Super Chix positions themselves as a premium, quick-serve option boasting their hand-cut fries, fresh, never frozen chicken, and "world famous" potato buns.  The Super Chix menu features several fried and grilled chicken sandwiches as well as fried chicken tenders and assorted salads topped with fried or grilled chicken.  The menu also includes hand-cut fries, fried pickles and even coleslaw, a side dish that rival Chick-fil-A famously removed from their menu in early 2016 in a move to add "variety" to their offerings.  The restaurant also features in-store churned, hand-dipped, premium frozen custard.

"At Super Chix, we are super into chicken. We think it’s just about the most perfect food in the world. And we wanted our recipes to celebrate all that perfection. So we did something drastic. We decided to keep it simple. We decided to bring to you The Last True Chicken Sandwich."  (A certain Atlanta-based chain already calls itself home of "The Original Chicken Sandwich.")

In Perimeter Marketplace, Super Chix joins anchor Publix and eateries Chopt, First Watch, Chicken Salad Chick and Panda Express, among others.

Have you been to Super Chix? What is your favorite chicken sandwich in Atlanta?  Where else would you like to see Super Chix open in metro Atlanta?

Chick-fil-a grill chicken club is a pretty good sandwich. I suspect Super Chix will do a decent lunch business, but will that be enough to sustain them?

I've eaten there. The chicken parmesan sandwich is solid, as are their fries. Should be a good addition to the neighborhood.
