Maxxinistas take note: a new HomeGoods is coming to town! Several real estate sources tell ToNeTo Atlanta that HomeGoods has inked a lease to open in the former Office Depot in Hammond Exchange shopping center (5924 Hammond Drive), at the intersection of Hammond Drive and Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. The nearly 21,000 square foot anchor space has sat vacant since the office supply store shuttered its store in 2021. Overall, the new HomeGoods will be about 31,400 square feet as it will also assume space previously occupied by Mills Uniform.
Framingham, Massachusetts-based HomeGoods has in recent years added several new stores to metro Atlanta and today operates two dozen outposts in the greater metro Atlanta area including those in Powers Ferry Square in Chastain Park and Perimeter Pointe in Sandy Springs. (There are unconfirmed reports that the Hammond Drive HomeGoods - about 3 miles from the Perimeter Pointe store - will replace rather than be in addition to the existing store.)
TJX also plans to finally bring their HomeGoods sibling brand Homesense to metro Atlanta. ToNeTo Atlanta reported in April that the area's first Homesense is planned for Johns Creek Town Center in Suwanee.
ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported June 14 that Ford Fry plans to bring his popular Mexican eatery Little Rey to Hammond Exchange in 2024.

I enjoy shopping at HomeGoods. It's a good fit for that shopping center. At times that parking lot is already pretty full though. I know it's unconfirmed but I could see this store replacing the one at Perimeter Pointe.
The entire perimeter point needs a makeover. Just like Perimeter marketplace up the road. I could see the entire property becoming mixed Use with new refreshed and modernized services and shopping. Perimeter marketplace I was there today there’s not one parking space open. They have a good mix of restaurants, retail, and services, lots of services. What they did at Chamblee Plaza was actually a miracle. The advent of all the new somewhat upscale apartment buildings in Chamblee along Peachtree is really what attracted the tenants to the new Chamblee plaza. Cambridge Square is also due for a complete rip and replace to welcome a new anchor tenant or two.
