[OPENING ALERT] Original ChopShop Opening Second Atlanta Area "Shop"

After several delays and a few unforeseen challenges, Atlanta will soon welcome a second outpost of healthy fast casual eatery Original ChopShop.   Previously slated to open in March, April, May...the new location - 2980 Cobb Parkway - is now on track to open Wednesday August 9! 

The new restaurant, which ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported on this past August, is located across from Akers Mill Square, just south of Cumberland Mall, in a small center called Cumberland Festival.  The new eatery replaces Schlotzsky's Austin Eatery which vacated the roughly 2,500 square foot space in late 2020.         

Plano, Texas-based Original ChopShop entered the Atlanta market this past November with an outpost along Peachtree Road near Peachtree Battle.  A third location is planned for Alpharetta near North Point Mall, but it, too, has been delayed, from a planned "late 2023" opening" to an "early 2024" debut.  

Original ChopShop features a rather diverse menu with several protein bowls, wraps, sandwiches and salads in addition to acai and pitaya bowls, avocado toast, other breakfast wraps and bowls, protein shakes and cold brew coffee.  Fresh juices and lemonades as well as sides like sweet potato hash with kale and onion, as well as a kids' menu, are also offered.   

The company recently introduced a "din for 10" menu featuring many of the restaurant's most popular bowls, salads and sandwiches for a flat $10.  The menu includes more than a dozen options but is only good after 5PM, with orders made via either their app or their website.  In addition to the entree deal, the company also introduced McDonald's-like pricing on their 16 ounce teas, lemonades and craft sodas with all offered for only one dollar!  

There are currently twenty one locations of the Original ChopShop open in Arizona, Georgia and Texas with five more, including the two Atlanta area outposts, "coming soon," according to the company's website.
