[ALERT] Bonchon Bringing Bibimbab and Bulgogi to Brookside Station

Popular Korean fried chicken eatery Bonchon will finally add a second Atlanta area location.  After making its Georgia debut in Fayetteville in 2016, the new Bonchon will open on the northside in Alpharetta.  Specifically, the new Bonchon will be located in a 1,521 square foot space in Brookside Station (4055 Old Milton Parkway), a strip center not far from Avalon.

The chicken joint has developed a cult-like following and while many will still cry fowl over their lack of a presence ITP, an expansion in general is a good sign and hopefully an indication of things to come.

Bonchon's menu is centered on their assorted fried chicken options but the eatery also features other classic Asian dishes such as pork buns, Bulgogi, Chicken Katsu, Bibimbap, Udon Noodle soup, and even Mochi and Korean donuts.

Founder Jinduk Seh opened the first Bonchon in 2002 in the coastal city of Busan, South Korea.  Bonchon, which translates to "my hometown," has grown steadily since its humble beginnings in South Korea.  The first U.S. Bonchon location opened in 2006 in Leonia, New Jersey.  Bonchon, which maintains domestic headquarters in New York City, has since grown to roughly one hundred and forty locations in the U.S. with several more in the works.

In Brookside Station, Bonchon joins existing eateries such as Smallcakes, Peace Love and Pizza, Jersey Mike's Subs, La Abuela, and music venue The Velvet Note, among other tenants.  A new location of breakfast eatery J Christopher's is expected to open soon in an endcap space previously home to Another Broken Egg Cafe.  The roughly 25,000 square foot two building center was acquired in early 2023 by Last Mile Investments, a portfolio company of Avalon owner North American Properties.

Have you ever been to Bonchon?  What is your favorite Alpharetta area restaurant?  Where else in Atlanta would you like to see Bonchon open?

Please share your thoughts below.

Atlanta has pretty much all of the Korean fried chicken places, BBQ Olive, Bonchon, Pelicana, etc. But the one I like the most is Kyochon Chicken. The only Kyochon location in the US is in Ktown LA. I hope a Kyochon opens up in Duluth or Suwanee.
