[EXCLUSIVE] A "Fluffy" New Franchise to Taking its Treats to Tucker

Growing Asian desert franchise Fluffy Fluffy plans to open its third Atlanta area location later this year in Tucker.  The new shop is planned for Northlake Tower Festival (3983 LaVista Road) where it will open in place of Uncle Maddio's Pizza which closed this past May.  The space, suite #115, is 2,479 square feet.

The Japanese dessert cafĂ©, known for its souffle pancakes, opened at The Exchange at (2925 Buford Drive) in Buford in February which followed its Atlanta market entry this past December in Duluth.  The Duluth eatery is located in GW Marketplace (2180 Pleasant Hill Road), a large shopping center near Gwinnett Place Mall, home to more than a dozen Asian-oriented businesses.

Co-founder and Director of Business Development Benson Lau started the business as Fuwa Fuwa in Canada in early 2018.  After growing in Canada, Lau has turned his attention to expansion in the states where 2023 openings included units in Orlando and Frisco, a suburb of Texas.  (The eatery's Canadian and international units remain branded Fuwa Fuwa, Japanese for "Fluffy Fluffy.")  In addition to Buford, a new location in the Southern California community of Tustin in Orange County also opened in February.

In addition to souffle pancakes, the menu includes croffles (croissant+waffles), burnt-top cheesecakes, roll cake, and macarons as well as specialty coffees and sodas, among other offerings.

In Northlake Festival, Fluffy Fluffy joins K Pot Korean BBQ which opened in 2023 in place of what had for many years been a Blockbuster Video.  The center is also home to Bubble Cream, an independent ice cream shop that previously operated as a Carvel franchise but now features an Asian-leaning menu with bubble waffles and bubble tea, among other treats.

A new concept called The Haunted House Restaurant was to have opened in the center in 2023 but it never opened nor did another planned one in Orlando.  The original location remains open in Cleveland, Ohio but currently has a disappointing 3.7 star rating on Yelp.com so perhaps Tucker dodged a bullet.

ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported January 5 that a Moe's Southwest Grill located across the street from Northlake Festival in Briarcliff LaVista shopping center is due to close this month and be replaced by a new ramen and bubble tea eatery.

Have you been to Fluffy Fluffy?  Do you think Fluffy Fluffy will be successful in Tucker?  What is your favorite "treat?"

I've never been to a Fluffy Fluffy. Looks like their other locations have decent reviews. They definitely have one of the most visible spots in that shopping
center so that's definitely a plus.

That's too bad about the Haunted House restaurant. That concept seemed like a surefire homerun ;-)
