[UPDATE] Assets of Hampton + Hudson Restaurant & Bar to be Sold at Auction

On March 27 we published a report that indicated that Inman Park restaurant Hampton+Hudson was permanently closed, rather than temporarily, as the restaurant had earlier indicated.  While we admit we never spoke directly with ownership, we felt comfortable enough in our report given the amount of information we were able to gather, that our reporting was accurate.

Make no mistake, we never cheer failure or purposefully report false or misleading information.

In a March 29th post to both the official Hampton+Hudson Facebook and Instagram pages, ownership referenced information from our article, refuted the accuracy of it, and again stated they were closed temporarily and to #staytuned.

"We are seeing a lot of articles being posted saying they are talking to our staff and talking to people “close to us” that we are permanently closed. — No one has spoke to us directly and SO we wanted to let you know WE ARE STILL TEMPORARILY CLOSED for Maintenance and Repairs and a little restructuring."

Nearly three months later, the restaurant's social pages remain dormant and signage at the restaurant now confirms our original report.

Auction Management Corporation (AMC) will be conducting an online auction of Hampton+Hudson furniture, fixtures, and equipment from June 25 through July 9.

The auction will include "All Restaurant Equipment from Hampton+Hudson Restaurant and Bar Including:  Freezers, Refrigerators, Ovens, Grills, Commercial Ice Maker, Hand Wash Sink, Refrigerators & Beverage Coolers & Other Plus Stainless Steel Tables, Grills, Prep Stations, Food Warmers & Sinks, Restaurant Furnishings, Lighting & Decor - & Much, Much More!"

That said, while we hate to see places close, it seems that our original report, while unfortunate, was ultimately in line with the news we have reported on for the past 16+ years: Tomorrow's News Today - Atlanta.

Thank you for your continued readership, comments, tips, critiques, tips and emails.

Would have been nice if they paid their vendors before leaving in the middle of the night while faking a maintenance issue. Especially when they operate several other restaurants in the city. Clearly a company with a very weak moral compass.

100%. They screwed me out of several hundred bucks as well.

“Very weak moral compass” is a severe understatement, if you know the people involved as I do. Absolute liars and thieves on a sociopathic level.

“Very weak moral compass” is an understatement if you’ve ever done business with these people. Arrogant liars and thieves on a sociopathic level (they have stolen money from friends and family in order to fund their enterprise and support their extravagant lifestyle). But if you talk to them, they’ll always find a way to play the victim and make excuses. Absolutely the worst of the worst.

1000% echo this. Lie after evasion after shady move after complete lack of transparency until the inevitable lawyer blockades go up while you wait for the whole enterprise - and your money - to evaporate. Just terrible human beings.

Really interested in understanding which other establishments are responsible for the same ownership and management, so that I know not to patronize them. Can someone respond with this information?

Each of those you listed are separate business entities. This is not a restaurant group.
