Super Chix, which opened their first Georgia restaurant at The Avenue Peachtree City in Peachtree City in March 2022 and made their metro Atlanta debut in February 2023 at Dunwoody Marketplace, will later this month open in East Cobb.
The upstart chain, which bills themselves as the "the anti-chainy chain," joins a growing list of new food and beverage options in the center, including Press Waffle Co., Round Trip Brewing, and Peach State Pizza.
The new East Cobb restaurant is expected to open Monday September 16, according to a restaurant employee.
In addition to the East Cobb opening, the chain is also coming soon to Limestone Marketplace in Gainesville and Barrett Corners Phase 2 along Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw.
The Gainesville restaurant will join a "relocated" Tupelo Honey Cafe in the upcoming Publix-anchored shopping center along Limestone Parkway. In Kennesaw, Super Chix replaces TD Bank in an upcoming center (1155 Barrett Parkway) where it will join Einstein Bros. Bagels, Tin Drum, EM Bop Korean BBQ, Petfolk, and Lovesac. (TD Bank was previously announced to be opening in the roughly 3,100 square foot endcap space but has seemingly pulled out of the project.)
Whereas Phase 1 of Barrett Corners replaced a former Sweet Tomatoes, Phase 2 replaced a onetime HiFi Buys.
Super Chix, which started in Dallas, Texas in 2014 and was until 2015 a concept in KFC-owner Yum! Brands' portfolio, has since grown to thirty-one locations with at least five more, including the aforementioned Georgia units, coming soon, and dozens more planned.
Despite the growth, the company has completely abandoned The Lone Star State where the company was born and formerly based. Online records suggest the company has in years past closed restaurants in Dallas, Frisco, Richardson, and Arlington. The chain has also closed locations in Toledo, Ohio and San Jose California.
The quick-serve restaurant bills itself as a "premium fast-casual dining experience." Some have likened Super Chix to Culver's and Freddy's in that like their burger brethren, Super Chix positions themselves as a premium quick-serve option boasting their hand-cut fries, fresh, never frozen chicken, and "world famous" potato buns.
The two existing Georgia locations have received a total of 560 reviews on Google with a commendable rating of 4.6 stars.
The Super Chix menu features several fried and grilled chicken sandwiches as well as fried chicken tenders and assorted salads topped with fried or grilled chicken. The menu also includes hand-cut fries, a fried avocado sandwich, fried pickles and even coleslaw, a side dish that rival Chick-fil-A famously removed from their menu in early 2016. The restaurant also features in-store churned, hand-dipped, premium frozen custard.

Chick-fil-A claims to be home of "The Original Chicken Sandwich" while Guthrie's, another chicken chain with an upcoming East Cobb unit, advertises itself as "America's Original Chicken Finger Restaurant."

Amazes me that in 2024 no one had started a chain serving Gluten Free fried chicken. In Australia in 2012 we found many places that all used GF flour instead of regular and it was outstanding
Does this mean any other chicken sandwiches are false?
I have dined at the Super Chix in Dunwoody and both the food and service were excellent.
