Toss'd Gourmet Salads & Slice Pizza Kitchen at Oglethorpe Crossing (3442 Ashford Dunwoody Road) in Brookhaven appears to have closed. The locally owned restaurant quietly debuted this past February in place of a Subway franchise that had been in the Publix-anchored center for several years.
Strangely, the restaurant's website currently displays a bizarre video and accompanying messages from someone who seems to be the restaurant's owner with allegations of civil rights violations on the part of two Brookhaven police officers.
"Our journey began with a simple idea: to re-imagine the way people enjoy salads and pizzas. We envisioned a place where customers could indulge in wholesome, chef-inspired salads made with organic greens, locally-sourced ingredients, and dressings crafted from scratch. But we didn't stop there. Our vision was to offer something truly unique—a fusion of artisanal salads and mouthwatering pizzas, all cooked to perfection in cast iron pans and stone ovens. At Toss'd and Slice we thrive to be a culinary beacon—a testament to the power of community, friendship, passion, and a shared love for good food," describes Toss'd, according to ChatGPT DoorDash.
Online menus as well as photos of the restaurant's menu, interior and signage indicate that Toss'd somehow featured - within a 1,000 square foot former Subway - a Cheesecake Factory-like menu with a wide variety of pizzas and salads in addition to several sandwiches, "signature" mac + cheese, "loaded fries," "gourmet burgers," cupcakes, lobster rolls, chicken tenders, smoothies and more!
The counter-service restaurant and its seemingly higher than expected prices (including lobster fries for $25 and some pizzas for as much as $39 and $45) were not well received by locals with many taking to Yelp, Google, and Facebook to voice their disappointment with the quality, quantity, speed, price and overall experience, among other issues, at the restaurant.
In rebuttals to patrons' disappointing experiences shared in Google reviews, ownership responded in lengthy rants that mentioned that they believe in "treat every customer like family," but at the same time seemed to blame the customers for their experiences.
It's worth noting, too, that the restaurant did receive several incredibly positive reviews, but the majority of those came from Google users with five or fewer reviews, leading one to question their authenticity.
Interestingly, online research confirms that Toss'd was operated by the same individual behind the ill-fated "Mr. Veg'n" that closed last year in the Perimeter Mall food court in Dunwoody.

As for the now former Toss'd space, anchor tenant Publix is expected to next year relocate to a new store in nearby Cambridge Square with Oglethorpe Crossing owner Coro Realty Advisors reportedly assessing their options with regard to replacing Publix or redeveloping the center.

when i see clown restaurants and owners such as this, i have to wonder if all of this is really free government $$ giveaways or non-recourse loans. Taxpayer funded restaurant experiments as long as you "qualify"? There are sooo many more examples
This place was so bad my wife and I had no idea how it got decent google reviews. They were certainly fake but hoping a legit place moves into this location.
Or money laundering
I only got something from there one time. There was only one person working and because of that I saw 3 other customers walk out because they were in the kitchen working on my order so there was no one out front to take any additional orders.
Iive right by this place and the concept was such a bad idea for the space. Their hours were also targeted to a work/lunch crowd, but prices that didn't match. Despite living a short walk from here I never tried it.
Went there when is first open and it was a complete joke. It seemed to me they were making a mockery of the restaurant industry. I thought to myself the entire time while I was waiting on my food that I was being punked. Who funds places like this?
Always closed when we tried!
To "Who funds places like this?" You do.
I only got something from there once (a small pepperoni pizza) and got the WORST diarrhea of my life. Like hours on the toilet. It felt like my insides were melting. I considered going to the ER. It was like a thousand hot suns coming out of my rectum in liquid form.
So glad this place is now gone.
Oh, and to the owner of the space who posted the interaction of himself with a Brookhaven police officer (i.e., the "Doctor"): you have no expectation of privacy in your automobile's tag. Police can, do, and will run your tag whenever they want. While you can certainly sue for anything you want, any lawyer suing for a police officer running your tag will be laughed out of federal court. Maybe get a real job next time, "Doctor."
Bye Felicia.
Seems like it’s good riddance!
Hopefully they lost a lot from opening this business. Looking forward to seeing something opening like Bonchon Korean chicken. Delicious.
Sad all the way around. Someone - the owner(s), the taxpayers, whoever - lost lots of money. Also the employee(s) probably got a bad impression of the restaurant business. I live nearby and I read a couple good reviews, but I never got around to trying it. It sounds like I would have been disappointed. I spent years tending bar, waiting tables, and management. And I still work catering big events setup and service. I expect food service employees to have enthusiasm and competence, doing the best they can with what they've got.
Had to be
But the good news is that your new dress
fit the next day!
The guy is a piece of work. He "closed" his restaurant at Perimeter Mall after having issues with mall security that led him to fearing for his safety and the safety of his employees. I know he's sought legal action against this website over previous articles about his establishments to the extent that he was trying to get some of the commenters in those articles subpoenaed.
Strange doesn’t even start to describe what is going on here. As a foodie who lives in the area, I was excited to see that seemingly overnight a new concept from a Small business owner suddenly popped up in the neighborhood! Although the establishment door itself was open, you can never find anybody working or shopping in the store. even more strange We talked in this thread about his web presence disappearing,… well… It took a good three months for him to “get” a web presence and to even be published on the web, google, etc., with a phone number, let alone a website. It’s almost like the establishment was a façade on a movie set, visually everything seems to be working except for actual people which only show up when there are scenes for them to act. Honestly all of this gives this guy way too much credit. I believe it’s the taxpayers that are suffering in this situation. I believe the guy based on what I’ve seen is a serial entrepreneur, taking advantage of some kind of SBA type loan, or grant, or elderly investor, or good old-fashioned money laundering from ill gotten gains Collected from other shady enterprises. What the heck? I’m surprised that he passed muster with Coro. The property manager . my dreams scenario for the subway space was for Jersey Mike’s Cambridge to relocate there instead of closing. That’s another whole story because there’s more than just the Publix construction that has kept that location of Jersey Mike’s closed, and now forgotten forever. RIP Ron - see ya Felicia!
Who is "Felicia"?
