There has been one persistent request before and after the September ownership change of the nearly 100-year-old The Colonnade Restaurant: the return of lunch service. The new owners, partners Paul Donahue and Lewis Jefferies, have heard those pleas and are making a change!
The Colonnade previously served Saturday lunch, but as restaurants faced troubling times during and in the aftermath of the pandemic coupled with impacts from the Cheshire Bridge fires in 2021 and 2023, this service was eliminated.
Paul Donahue, Co-owner of The Colonnade said, “Since beginning our journey at The Colonnade, we have received tremendous support from patrons and our staff. Because of that support, we were able to listen to feedback from our guests and hire new staff to bring Saturday lunch service."
A return of the "Early Bird Menu," another common request, is not currently planned, but the owners are less than 90 days in and have already implemented other changes including a refreshed logo and website and a more robust social media presence.
Going forward The Colonnade will be open:
Wednesdays - Friday: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturdays: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Sundays: 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays
Have you been to The Colonnade since the new owners took over? What is your favorite classic southern dish? Do you plan to dine at The Colonnade this coming Saturday?

Yes. A Sunday mid afternoon lunch. Delicious just as in the past! So glad things are going well.
Wow, great news. It is good to hear positive news about an Atlanta Icon instead of closing dates. Now, if we could just get the Varsity Jr. back.
Yes! My family went on Sunday! Still wonderful 💙
I have been back since the new owners took over and found everything delicious and the atmosphere the same.
I have a request....can you add some vegan / gluten free choices?
As a long-term regular, I discovered the recent addition of garlic to the baby limas and pole beans with horror.
Love garlic! The more the better. The Limas and pole beans are yum,
We were there Saturday and there was a nice crowd. THE best place for old-school meals. Still not back to pre-pandemic menu, but a noticeable improvement. Best wishes to the new owners!
