A new Dunkin' is coming to Southwest Atlanta. Planning documents confirm that the new Dunkin' is planned for 3724 Cascade Road, where it will replace a local convenience store. The new Dunkin' will be about 1,900 square feet with a single drive-thru window.
Existing Dunkin' franchisee Jignesh Suthar and his JVS Development, LLC is opening the new Dunkin'. Described in planning materials as a "Next Gen" location, the shop is being designed by Ware & Associates, an Atlanta-based firm that according to its website has designed several restaurant projects in the greater metro Atlanta including a Dunkin' in Covington.
Established in the Boston suburb of Quincy in 1948 as "Open Kettle," the company adopted the "Dunkin' Donuts" name in 1950. The company officially dropped "Donuts" from its name in early 2019, a reflection of the fact that the brand had increasingly become more than just donuts. (Starbucks Coffee and Jamba Juice had similarly streamlined.)
In late 2020, Dunkin' was acquired by Atlanta-based Roark Capital Group for $11.3 billion. According to the company's website, Georgia is the chain's ninth largest market by unit count with 294 Dunkin' locations. New York and Massachusetts are the company's largest, with 1,441 and 1,037 locations, respectively. Today, Dunkin' has become the largest coffee and donuts brand in the U.S. and has a global presence of nearly 14,000 locations.

Yum! More stale donuts made offsite and sitting “open air” all day long.
