A new Smalls Sliders is being planned in Marietta. According to multiple sources close to the development, the new Smalls is slated to occupy a currently vacant outparcel of Windy Hill Village (2359 Windy Hill Road), land once home to an outpost of The Mad Italian.
Founded in Baton Rouge in 2019, Smalls moved its headquarters to metro Atlanta in late 2022.
The restaurants, known as "cans," are repurposed shipping containers that are "dropped" on site and measure just 800 square feet. Their modular design and compact size make them well-suited to sites of just a half-acre in area, about half that of a typical quick-serve restaurant.
Smalls keeps things incredibly simple. Their menu consists of just cheeseburger sliders, waffle cut fries, and three shakes: vanilla, chocolate, and cookies & cream. The sliders are offered individually or as part of a combo (with fries and a Coke product). Add-ons like sauce "Smauce" and bacon are available, but that's about it.
“We have less than 10 food ingredients in the restaurant, where a lot of quick-service restaurants have several hundred ingredients that they have to manage,” Smalls Chief Development Officer Richard Leveille told QSR Magazine in 2023.
Essentially, Smalls is looking to become the Raising Cane's of burgers with an incredibly limited menu but an efficient, lucrative operation. According to published reports, Smalls Sliders' AUV (Average Unit Volume) as of late 2023 exceeded $2 million.
The new Smalls will look to capture the business of the many car dealerships up and down Cobb Parkway as well as the captive market that is Lincoln Tech, a trade school with a location in Windy Hill Village.
PAR Concepts has the franchise rights to the majority of Cobb, Cherokee, Bartow, and Floyd counties and is actively assessing sites in Acworth, Cartersville, and Rome, among others, according to a company representative.
Through separate groups, at least two other Smalls are underway in Georgia, one in Stockbridge, and the other in Warner Robins, both of which should open in early 2025.
Have you been to Smalls Sliders? What is your favorite fast-food burger joint? Where else in metro Atlanta would you like to see Smalls Sliders open?

Interesting. Do you know when they will open? Thank you
I didn't realize there was a Mad Italian there at one time. Must predate my time in the area. I remember a Backyard Burgers on the left outparcel going way back. Would've loved having the Mad Italian nearby.
