Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant is planning to make its Atlanta debut next month. The upscale American restaurant with a focus on wine is opening near North Point Mall at Mansell Crossing in Alpharetta. This new restaurant, which ToNeTo Atlanta first reported on this past May, marks the company's 69th overall restaurant.
The new Alpharetta location offers an indoor dining area with seating for 260 guests, with a covered patio that can accommodate an additional 64 guests. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner as well as weekend "brunch & bubbles" service with a "contemporary American menu, infused with global flavors."
Founder Tim McEnery opened the first Cooper's Hawk in Orland Park, a Chicago suburb, in 2005. Despite McEnery being just 29 at the time of the first opening, investor confidence in the brand has allowed him to expand to sixty-eight restaurants across twelve states. The Cooper's Hawk website suggests that beyond Atlanta, the chain has at least four more restaurants in the works including two in Florida, already its second biggest market with fifteen units. The company is headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois, a suburb southwest of Chicago.
Construction on the Alpharetta restaurant recently wrapped up with interior finishes and training now underway. Cooper's Hawk operates a central wine production facility in Woodridge, Illinois. Each restaurant stores and displays barrels of Cooper's Hawk wine, which undergo the aging process from a few months up to 18 months. Cooper's Hawk also offers a monthly "wine club" where members can pay a monthly fee to receive new wine each month. The restaurant has over the years received over 600 wine awards from various local, national, and international wine competitions, according to the Cooper's Hawk website.
The new Alpharetta restaurant, slated to open Monday February 17, is reportedly one of several the chain has planned for the greater metro Atlanta area in the years to come.
Have you ever been to a Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant? What is your favorite Alpharetta area restaurant? Where else in metro Atlanta would you like to see Cooper's Hawk open?
