And you thought the party was over? ToNeTo Atlanta has learned that Swoozies is reopening in Chastain Square in Chastain Park! The popular gift and party store closed all of their stores earlier this year including the original in Chastain Park, which launched the company in 2001. ''
Along with Plank, Neiman Marcus veteran David Dworkin, opened the original store in 2001 and later expanded it to a regional chain of about a dozen locations. Dworkin passed away in 2007 and the company later went through a bankruptcy and two ownership changes.
"Swoozie's NewCo LLC" was registered with the Georgia Secretary of State April 4.
The Chastain Square (4285 Roswell Road) store closed in February after serving as the liquidation point for the company's other stores. A lease on the 5,200 square foot space was reportedly completed in recent days with the retailer already receiving new merchandise ahead of their planned reopening. ToNeTo Atlanta tipsters suggest that the owners of Swoozies plan to be open "ASAP," perhaps as soon as June 1 ahead of the busy July 4 holiday, bridal, and summer shopping season.
There is currently no indication that there are plans to open or reopen any additional Swoozies stores.
Are you excited for the reopening of Swoozies in Chastain Park? Do you think a single Swoozies will find success 24 years after the first store opened? What is your favorite gift store in metro Atlanta?

OMG Again??? 🤣 I love the store but I have been to the close out sale twice. My goodness. It's overpriced. Maybe lower your prices and then you will be more successful. LoL ... I wish Papyrus would open back up. I miss them.
The founders have bankrupted many a company. Cheers to more of the same.
Oh, you! This isn’t about Cheers! This is about Swoozies.
I agree, wayyy over priced. Would def be more successful if prices were better. Papyrus was the best!
Speaking as one of their vendors, they DO NOT pay invoices. Corrupt company. David is tossing and turning in his grave. Kelly has ruined this company. William Love, owner of Beyond Brands Group LLC should not be in charge of Right At Home either. That man cannot pay invoices, therefore should not care for our loved ones!!
I’m a vendor too. Hats and Gloves for Ladies. We always get paid. Love Swoozies!!! Glad to be doing business with them.
Totes ma groats. Bes 4 les!
