The owner of a local franchise of Wild Wing Cafe announced earlier this week that he will be closing the restaurant after 14 years in business. The wing-centric restaurant is located at The Shoppes at Webb Gin (1250 Scenic Highway, Suite 1232) in Snellville.
There was no reason given for the closure, but the area around the circa 2006 shopping center has seen tremendous commercial growth over the past decade or so, and many new restaurants - of all service levels - have opened in new and existing developments.
Miller's Ale House, City Barbecue, Whataburger, Raising Cane's, Freddy's, Zaxby's, Cracker Barrel, Outback Steakhouse, Cava, Jim 'N Nick's, Tacos & Tequilas, The Juicy Crab, and Culver's are just some of the restaurants that have opened along Scenic Highway over the past decade or so.
Despite the competition, The Shoppes Webb Gin has remained a popular destination in the area and is today anchored by a high-performing Sprouts Farmers Market, DSW, and Barnes & Noble, as well as restaurants such as LongHorn Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, and Ted's Montana Grill.
The Snellville closure follows the closure of the Wild Wing Cafe at the Collection at Forsyth in Cumming this past December. May 2022 marked the closure of the Wild Wing Cafe in Dunwoody where Sushi Kingdom opened in its place in 2024.
Despite the two closures, Georgia is still the Charlotte-based company's largest market by unit count with ten other locations around the state including Alpharetta, Cumming, Gainesville, and Macon.
The Snellville space is not yet being marketed for lease, but it does occupy a 6,542 square foot endcap space in front of Sprouts with visibility on two sides.
Are you surprised to see Wild Wing Cafe closing in Snellville? What would you like to see open in place of Wild Wing Cafe in Snellville? What is your favorite wing joint in metro Atlanta?

That section of The Shoppes has next to no parking. We frequent Ted's but haven't been to WWC in years. TBH the best wings and bar food in the area are at Summits on 78. The atmosphere is not the greatest but the food and service makes up for it at Sumiits. Will deal with the parking problems at for a better restaurant (TMG) or store (Sprouts).
WOW is that the owner? He's handsome! 🥰
Agreed. Kind of reminds me of The Golden Bachelor, Gerry.
You might want to check that construction date again because I can guarantee that shopping center wasn’t built in 1996. 2006, maybe, but certainly not 1996. It was built by Cousins Properties at some point in the early 2000s as the Avenue Webb Gin.
You are 100% correct. We had the accurate opening date but somehow transposed something in our editing. Thanks for the catch!
It’s sad to see businesses close in snellville, but snellville is turning ghetto, yes I said it, it’s ghetto
There used to be a WWC on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs, it's been closed for years
Gwinnett has been ghetto for several years now.
Everything you didn’t create or design is ghetto Alec. You should be in charge of the world
There was also an Arthur treachers in Roswell road right inside 285. It’s been closed for years also
Long J Silvers was better with the peglegs and crunchies
Yes but Bridgetown grill was even better. There used to be one of those on Roswell road near north springs high school but it also closed years ago
Ya but Mrs Winners was even better. Chicken biscuits before school on Friday.
There was a place on Roswell road and Hammond drive in the shopping center that is now a Lowe’s called GD ritzys in the mid 80s. Best chili dogs ever. Still miss that place
Varisty has good chili dawgs and they used to have a juionrs too on Chess Bridge Road.
Was there a varsity junior on roswell road in sandy springs? I think the chili dogs are fine but still prefer GD ritzys. There was also a little lace off Roswell road called the loop. They had great milkshakes. I think they closed around 2008
