On the heels of news that a new Swig is coming to Brookhaven in place of a longstanding McDonald's comes news that the "dirty soda" company is also looking to open a shop in Toco Hills.
DeKalb County records indicate the current print shop building is 1,568 square feet, built in 1952 and that it occupies a roughly half acre parcel.
Atlanta-based GoTo Foods (then known as FOCUS Brands) sought approval in 2020 to replace the burned down Wingstop property at 2933 North Druid Hills with a combo Jamba + Auntie Anne's location with drive-thru but the plan was never approved.
An Andy's Frozen Custard was approved however and opened in April 2023 at 3033 North Druid Hills Road in place of what most recently had been a hair salon but was originally a Hardee's.
Swig is most well known for its "dirty sodas," soft drinks mixed with add-ins such as cream and flavored syrups. The shops also feature pretzel bites and cookies among other offerings.
The company entered the Georgia market this past January with a location on Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe near Chattanooga, but the location planned for Brookhaven will be the first of reportedly several planned for the greater metro Atlanta area.
Have you ever been to Swig? Are you pleased to see Swig expanding in metro Atlanta? What other types of businesses would you like to see open in Toco Hills?
