After less than a year in business, Piraye Kitchen & Bar in Brookhaven has quietly closed. The "Mediterranean-European restaurant with a Southern twist," located at 3575 Durden Drive in Brookleigh Marketplace, opened this past January in place of Secreto Kitchen & Bar.
Despite its closure, the Piraye website is still up and running and even displays a pop-up that encourages you to book your holiday parties with the restaurant indicating that "weekends and evenings are booking fast."
The 3,476 square foot space in Brookleigh Marketplace was before Secreto and Piraye, home to Fiorellos Italian Bistro and originally, Brookhaven Provisions from the Cafe at Pharr team. The space now offers a sought-after second-generation restaurant opportunity to operators looking to open in the area. Any would-be replacement would join existing eateries Pure Taqueria, Marlow's Tavern and Southern Custard.
Did you ever dine at Piraye Kitchen & Bar? If so, what did you think? What would you like to see open in place of Piraye in Brookhaven?

I honestly thought Secreto was still there. Too bad, it sounded like a good place
The secreto menu was great.. but piraye menu was wierd and I stopped going.. looks like others did also
Any restaurant that has "with a ________ twist" in their business plan almost assuredly closes. That language is classic "I don't really have a concept, I'm just trying to appeal to everyone".
I go to Pure a decent amount and never even knew that place was there.....
Weird location, secreto was good. Never went to the new spot. Not sure what works there. Area is missing a decent dine in Chinese.
